Citroen C3 could very well debut in India with Stellantis’s C3 Hatchback Smart car platform

0

Carlos Tavares, Stellantis’ global CEO, has announced the debut of an all-electric Citroen C3. According to him, it will be released sometime early next year. Citroen is expected to enter the electric car market in India with an EV version of their C3 hatchback with an SUV-like design. It is most likely to be referred to as the E-C3. The new electric car is expected to make its debut in early 2023.

Citroen releases its first electric vehicle for India, the E-C3, just a few months after launching the petrol-powered C3. The new electric vehicle is slated to hit the market early next year.

The Citroen EC3 is expected to retain the same feature set as the conventional or internal combustion engine-powered C3, although the electric hatchback is expected to receive minor modifications to differentiate it from the ordinary C3. Citroen may experiment with the colour and style of the external trim and wheel covers to visually distinguish the EV variant and make it stand out.

This should imply that the interior’s built-to-price quality, as well as its adjustable exterior and interior trims, will remain available. The spy photographs show that, with the exception of the charging outlet door on the front right fender, the Citroen E-C3 will look very similar to the C3. The electric version of the vehicle is likely to cost between Rs 9 lakh and Rs 13 lakh.

Their biggest challenge is making EVs accessible to the middle class. During a media event in Chennai, Tavares also emphasised that scalability can lead to affordability, and only then can it have a meaningful impact on the environment. In order to keep prices down, the e-C3 will use a reasonably large battery. The vehicle will have both a fast charger and an onboard AC charger. Citroen, on the other hand, is eager to localise this in order to make it more affordable.

President Biden declares building 500,000 EV charging stations across the US

The US has already fantastically adapted to the EV future we all have dreamt of but the fundamental for achieving it is not through only electric cars but charging stations. Yes, the most difficult thing about EVs is their long charging time, which is reducing as our tech gets better but availability plays a key role when you are going through long-distance travel.

As of now even though a lot of household cars in the US have been electrified but in turning everything electric more EV charging stations will definitely be required, especially when it comes to commercial vehicles. As per USA facts, there are about 56,000 EV charging stations with about 148,000 EV charging ports across the US and President Biden has just declared a historic announcement.

Yes, Joe Biden has just declared that they will be building as many as 500,000 EV charging stations across the US, which are some massive numbers, a commitment to multiply 10 times the number of charging stations currently. Obviously, this move will not only benefit the US but also urge other countries like India to double or triple the number of EV charging stations over the years so that more electric vehicles can be seen on road easily without having that range anxiety.

Tesla Is Losing Market share Over Price Claims Study

Tesla Is Losing Marketshare Over Price, Claims Study

Tesla is losing gobbets of its EV marketshare because it does n’t have any cheaper immolations, Stellantis wants to make its own EV rise a bit easier for dealerships to handle, and California seems to have helped get the first Tesla Semi delivery over the finish line. All those stories and further in The Morning Shift for Wednesday, November 30, 2022.

At some point in the future, and probably sooner rather than latterly, Tesla will moreover have to pull on some further of its numerous demand regulators, or bring further affordable electric buses to request. This is, if Tesla’s thing is to remain the dominating force in the US EV request. Tesla still leads the member in request share by a wide periphery, but automakers are catching up.

Tesla Leads EV Market Share, But Rivals’ Cheaper Models Are Gaining

Not long agone , Tesla and CEO Elon Musk mentioned the eventuality for a cheaper and further compact model coming to market soon. Still, the idea was short- lived, and it came clear that the focus now is on the company’s robot, Full tone- Driving capability, and getting the Cybertruck to vend, among numerous other pretensions.

That said, more lately, Tesla did present information about a unborn market that will be much cheaper to produce than the Model 3 hydrofoil and Model Y SUV. Tesla’s EVs erected on this unborn platform will be more affordable, which should help the US EV maker recapture some ground that it’s presently losing with regard to US request share in the member.

Grounded on a recent study by S&P Global Mobility, which was participated by Teslarati, Tesla has a 65 percent share of the EV request on our props. While that is an emotional number no matter how you look at it, just two times agone , it was 79 percent.

Looking at the map below reveals that the main reason people are likely to choose rivals’ EVs over Tesla’s models is the price. In fact, S&P Global Mobility went so far as to partake in its report that Tesla’s loss of US market share can be primarily attributed to the appearance of contending EVs that bring lower than$,000. Tesla presently competes in the” luxury” EV space and does not offer” cheap” electric buses .

Tesla Is Losing Marketshare Over Price, Claims Study

Teslarati goes on to add that from January to September of 2022, well over 50 percent of the entire EV market was held by Tesla Model 3 and Model Y, the brand’s least precious options. About,000 EVs were registered in the States over the course of the first three dig diggings, and some,000 of those vehicles were produced by Tesla.

Tesla’s four models are each among the top five electric vehicles vended in the US over the first three diggings of 2022. Interestingly, the rest of the EVs on the list are some of the cheapest options available. So, basically, EV shoppers who are not splurging for a Tesla are choosing an affordable option, similar as the Chevy Bolt, Nissan Leaf, VolkswagenID.4, or one of Kia or Hyundai’s well- priced Tesla rivals.

Tesla will nearly clearly retain an emotional EV request share for some time to come. still, as more affordable options come to request that are also compelling in so numerous ways, the US” luxury” EV maker may have to explosively consider producing EVs for the millions.

This man invents a 6-seater electric cycle that costs only Rs.10k

It’s well said that Necessity is the Mother of Invention and what better implementation than this could be thought of? As we are living in the transitional phase where Indians are moving onto EVs, and electric cycles, rural areas have transitioned to e-rickshaws, and people are liking the next sustainable future ahead. So, recently Anand Mahindra, whom we all know, and being very active on Twitter, shared an interesting video of a man who has made an interesting invention.

A 6-seater electric cycle that costs only Rs.10k and gets charged for Rs.8-10

The reduced costs of batteries and increasing e-rickshaws, electric cycles, and bikes have helped this man who looks from a village in India has got special attention with his unique invention. He has invented a 6-seater electric cycle that costs only Rs.10k and can give a staggering range of 150km per change and as you see in this video the cycle is easily handling 6 people without any problems.

There is the driver in front who will be responsible for steering down the roads and the other 5 passengers can easily the joy of riding a cycle without pedalling and breath fresh air while they get the feel of cycling. While there are multiple electric cycles in the market costing around Rs.20-30k or even more, you will be amazed to know how much this electric cycle has actually cost, yes it cost only Rs.10k-12k for this man to make this unique eco-friendly invention.

The man claims ease of usage and that reflects in this short video, this goes to show India’s uniqueness and its bright minds even in villages, a little engineering marvel honestly. Delivering up to 150km of range in a single charge which again is very economical according to the man, requires only Rs.8-10 i.e. 1 unit of electricity (1 kilowatt-hour (kWh) power).

As Anand Mahindra says in his tweet with some design tweaks into the chassis, this is a great idea for making tour buses for European tourist centres and that actually makes sense. What prototype this man has built could be a foundation for a sustainable public transport option because for a very less cost one can get endless rides without any noise or emission.

As this video has gained around 1 million views on Twitter alone, we are sure, his invention will be taken care of and we could see similarly inspired products in the Indian market soon.
