Servotech Power Systems Ltd., a top-tier manufacturer of EV chargers and solar solutions, has disclosed its filing of two patents aimed at transforming the EV charging infrastructure. The patents will allow any GB/T Bharat DC 001 vehicle operating on 72v/96VDC to be fast-charged via a CCS2 connector with an additional small device. These inventions will overhaul the EV charging framework through two unique approaches, establishing a robust, interoperable, and cost-effective EV charging ecosystem.

Servotech’s patents will enable Fast DC charging of any GB/T Bharat DC 001 vehicle based on 72v/96VDC through a CCS2 connector

The innovative technology from Servotech Power Systems is set to redefine the EV charging scene in India and other nations that utilise GB/T with LVDC standards. This breakthrough will also eliminate dual infrastructure costs by enabling GB/T Bharat DC 001 vehicles to charge via prevalent CCS2 chargers. It will also be beneficial to fleet services and vehicles such as small trucks or lorries that follow the GB/T Bharat DC 001 protocol, allowing them to charge through the more ubiquitous CCS2 chargers.

The GB/T Bharat DC 001 standard is a popular fast-charging standard for electric vehicles in India, while the CCS2 standard is a global fast-charging standard used in Europe, the UK, and elsewhere. This forward-thinking development opens new markets for GB/T Bharat DC 001 vehicle manufacturers and significantly eases travel for EV owners between India and Europe.

Previously, the company had filed two patents aimed at optimising grid service through a battery energy storage system and effectively channelling renewable energy into BESS for maximum value, thereby facilitating the shift to sustainable energy. These innovations revolutionised energy management and enhanced overall efficiency. Both of these state-of-the-art technologies found use across a wide range of fields, including solar and electric vehicle charging systems.

Arun Handa, Chief Technical Officer of Servotech Power Systems Ltd., said, “Servotech continues to spearhead innovation, driving the EV industry towards improved accessibility, convenience, and interoperability in charging solutions. Since starting two decades ago, the company has solely focused on innovations and cutting-edge technologies that will position India as a global leader.

In the EV industry, Servotech has produced EV charging components that truly embody the ‘Make in India’ concept for adopting sustainable technologies in the EV ecosystem. The company is a leading EV charger supplier to various well-known oil marketing companies and has established an extensive EV charging network for them.

With a committed mission to make substantial contributions to India’s e-mobility goals, Servotech aims to set up 5000 CPO sites across the country in the coming years, all of which will be equipped with this technology. In the field of EV charging infrastructure, Servotech feels a strong urge to create a more connected, efficient, and sustainable EV ecosystem.

Consequently, Servotech is poised to develop a technology that will allow users to fast-charge any GB/T Bharat DC 001 vehicle effortlessly. These transformative patents embody a vision to revolutionise EV charging paradigms, particularly in areas like India and other countries adopting the GB/T Bharat DC 001 standard. These patents will indeed play a significant role in developing India’s EV charging infrastructure, fueling a future where accessibility and innovation blend seamlessly.”
