In 2024, Tata Motors will introduce its first entirely new model, the Tata Curvv SUV. The coupe SUV has been spotted testing for months, and our sources indicate that the Curvv’s series production is expected to start in April 2024. Although a debut date has not yet been announced, we anticipate the automaker will reveal the Curvv’s price in May or June of next year.

Tata Curvv’s sales objective

Tata Motors has reportedly set a sales goal of 48,000 units for the Curvv SUV, according to sources. This will be divided into versions for combustion and electric engines. As we’ve previously reported, the Curvv EV will be the first to go on sale, with production estimated to reach 12,000 units annually. The ICE-powered Curvv units will make up the remaining 36,000. The Ranjangaon facility of Tata Motors, which also produces the Nexon, will launch the Curvv.

Three possible powertrain options for the Tata Curvv

The Curvv EV is anticipated to include an all-wheel drive system with two motors and a 400–500 km range. In the meantime, the 1.2-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine with 125 horsepower and 225 Nm will power the petrol variant, which was unveiled at the Auto Expo 2023. Both manual and automatic gears will be available for the fuel variant. Additionally, there have been discussions about a CNG powertrain eventually entering the lineup.

Rivals of Tata Curvv in India

The Curvv SUV coupe will compete with vehicles such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, and MG Astor when it launches into the crowded midsize SUV market. It will also compete with the Citroen C3X, which is scheduled to be on sale in the latter part of 2019.
