Hyundai Motor India intends to stick with its premiumization approach because its high-tech SUVs continue to hold a substantial market share. SUVs accounted for seven out of ten cars sold in India, with sedans and hatchbacks having smaller market shares, according to the automaker’s first public quarterly figures.
The OEM exceeded the industry penetration rate of 54.9 percent with a significant sales rise of 68.6 percent. Hyundai Motor India recently declared that it wants to greatly increase the range of EVs it offers. There is a cult following for the Creta, which is one of Hyundai India’s best-selling models. The automaker intends to leverage the Creta’s strong brand to generate the kind of traction they were unable to achieve with the Kona Electric.
Hyundai Creta EV: Features and Specifications
Headlights and DRLs will stay the same, according to recent spy photos, but the EV will have a closed front face in place of a radiator grille. A new set of alloy wheels with enhanced aerodynamics for increased range is also anticipated for the Creta EV. The Creta EV is anticipated to come with two battery pack configurations, though specifics are still lacking. With a stated range of 430 km and 502 km, respectively, the Tata Curvv EV, one of the main rivals of the impending Creta EV, comes with two battery pack options: a 45 kWh and a 55 kWh battery pack.
Hyundai is anticipated to provide a comparable setup with a 500-kilometer range on a single charge.Compared to the ICE variant, the Hyundai Creta EV will be marketed as a premium product. With the use of premium soft touch materials, it is anticipated to feature a more upscale cabin than the Creta. Similar to the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the Creta EV’s cabin is anticipated to have unique upholstery made of environmentally friendly materials.
Additionally, the Creta EV will have a more advanced tech suite than the Creta. Hyundai is anticipated to include a contemporary gear selector and other improvements to the Creta EV’s center console layout. Features-wise, the Creta EV will have two screens, just as the ICE model.
The 360-degree surround-view camera system and level 2 ADAS features will also remain in the EV. Ex-showroom, the Hyundai Creta EV is anticipated to cost more than ₹20 lakh. The Hyundai EV will compete with the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, the future Mahindra BE 6e, and the Honda Elevate EV when it launches.
