Tata Motors plans to introduce three new electric cars to the national market before the conclusion of FY26,. Launched in Q1, 2025, the production-ready Harrier EV is anticipated to make its premiere at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show. In a same vein, in 2025, the nation will get an electric variant of the Tata Safari. The major news is that in FY26, the venerable Tata Sierra will return in a new form.

The Sierra EV concept was on display by Tata Motors at the 2023 Auto Expo. Tata has said that the SUV’s production version will debut before the end of FY26, most likely in the first quarter of 2026 or before the end of 2025. The length of the Tata Sierra idea is 4.3 meters, the same length as Curvv and Seltos. The Sierra won’t have a direct competitor in our market, though; instead, it will be positioned as a lifestyle SUV. The SUV’s internal combustion engine may provide a more cost-effective option than vehicles like the Mahindra Scorpio N and Thar Roxx.

Tata Sierra Engine Choices and Features

The Punch EV and Curvv EV’s Acti.ev architecture will serve as the foundation for the Tata Sierra EV. The dual-motor AWD system available on this electric SUV will also be available on the Harrier EV and the Safari EV. It is anticipated that it will be delivered with a 60–80kWh battery pack. With just one charge, the SUV might have a range of more than 500 kilometers.

The new 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine from Tata, which made its premiere at the 2023 Auto Expo, is probably going to be installed in the ICE version of the Sierra lifestyle SUV. This T-GDI gasoline engine can generate 280 Nm of torque and 170 PS of power. The Harrier and Safari SUVs can come with the same drivetrain. Tata Motors has stated that the Sierra’s production model will essentially look the same as the concept car. The top-spec model will come with a four-seater lounge version with two captain seats, but it will be available with a five-seater layout as usual.

The ATLAS platform, which will be utilized for cars ranging in length from 3.9 to 4.6 meters, will serve as the foundation for the ICE version of the Sierra. Actually, this platform serves as the foundation for the new Tata Curvv, which can fit a variety of body types. Its battery capacity may be comparable to that of the future Safari EV, but it will be modified for improved efficiency and increased range.

It is anticipated that the Sierra EV will have a range of about 500 kilometers between charges. Whether it is hatchbacks or SUVs, Tata is renowned for making the safest vehicles in every market group. In addition to offering excellent safety features, the Sierra EV is anticipated to have a 360-degree parking camera, ABS, EBD, ESP, and nine airbags. However, the Sierra’s ADAS Level 2 module might be the game-changer. This would include safety technologies like adaptive cruise control, lane departure and change help, pedestrian safety assistance, active front collision warning and assist features, blind-spot monitoring and assistance, and more. Furthermore, the 5-star BNCAP crash test rating will be the cherry on top.
