Maruti Suzuki has been developing the eVX, or first completely electric vehicle, for a while now. A more production-ready version of the same vehicle debuted at the Auto Expo last year, and earlier this year it was shown at the first Bharat Mobility Expo.

It has already been confirmed that the Indo-Japanese automaker would present the complete production-spec model of the eVX during the next Bharat Mobility Expo, which is set for January 17–22, 2025. Its original plan was to launch globally later this year, but a number of problems caused it to be delayed. India will serve as the exclusive location for the production of the eVX, making it the primary hub for the production of electric vehicles. With the eVX, Maruti Suzuki has big aspirations. It will introduce the vehicle first in important international markets like Europe and Japan, then later in 2025, when it comes to Indian roads.

With manufacturing scheduled to begin early in 2019, the company hopes to produce 1.5 lakh a year, the majority of which will be exported. Maruti Suzuki’s resolve to leave its mark on the global market is demonstrated by this tactic. The increasing of the eVX is a joint venture with Toyota, rather than just an individual endeavor. A Toyota-badged version of the eVX is anticipated to arrive a few months after Maruti Suzuki’s introduction.

Specifications of the Suzuki eVX

Over the past six months, Suzuki eVX test mules have been the target of multiple spy missions. The eVX is expected to have a roomy cabin because it is built on the company’s skateboard platform. The battery-powered SUV will have a 60kWh battery pack that can provide up to 550 km of driving range, according to Maruti Suzuki. Its measurements are 1,800 mm in width, 1,600 mm in height, and 4,300 mm in length.A few months after eVX launches, a Toyota version of the same vehicle is scheduled to debut as part of the company’s global alliance.

When the Maruti Suzuki eVX is introduced in India, it will compete with vehicles like the MG ZS EV, Hyundai Creta and the BYD Atto 3. In order to provide a powerful hybrid drivetrain for next models, Maruti Suzuki is also building its own.

This action demonstrates the company’s dedication to growing its selection of environmentally friendly automobiles. In other developments, ESP is now a standard feature on the Maruti Alto K10 and Spresso. Furthermore, a recall of 2,555 Maruti Alto K10 vehicles has been issued in India due to problems. Maruti Suzuki will enter the electric vehicle industry with the car impending debut. With an emphasis on exports and a production center in India, the company wants to become a major player in the world market.
