MG Windsor EV teases its reclining seats and darts around bends

MG Motor has revealed that the Wuling Cloud EV will be available in India under the Windsor EV name. Known as a compact utility vehicle (CUV), the Windsor is most likely to be positioned in the company’s India portfolio below the ZS EV and above the Comet EV. The British automaker, which is controlled by China, also filed for the identical patents in the nation earlier this year.

The little electric vehicle (EV) is also the first completely new model to hit the market since Jindal Steel Works (JSW) and MG Motor partnered. MG has begun its promotional effort on social media ahead of its secret launch date, promising the future battery-powered UV and its features.

MG Windsor EV Specifications

According to the automaker’s most recent teaser, the Windsor will have first-ever segment-first Aero-Lounge seats in the second row, with a 135° recline. Customers looking for a compact automobile but who enjoy being ferried around will be drawn to this feature. The brief video focuses on how cosy the padded seats covered in quilted leatherette are for travellers. The video shows that there is plenty of space in the all-black cabin, along with three separate headrests for each passenger.

The preview also reveals a flat floor, contrast gold accents, ambient lighting across door trims, and rear AC vents. Although the business hasn’t revealed the car’s design just yet, the film emphasizes the crossover silhouette of the vehicle, just like earlier teases.

An all-wheel-drive system is unlikely to help the CUV, but in one of the previous teasers, a test prototype of the Windsor EV is seen navigating difficult mountain tracks in Ladakh, showcasing its off-road skills. The elegant LED tail strip, which will give the automobile a unique personality, is the other highlight that can be seen in the most recent teaser.

As previously stated, the Wuling Cloud EV, which is marketed in China, will serve as the basis for the Windsor EV. Therefore, we anticipate that the Windsor, which is designed for India, will largely inherit the Cloud EV’s design. The future CUV’s design, which includes linked LED DRLs and a svelte split headlight design, is modeled after the MG Cloud EV.

The side profile is sleek and understated, and its contemporary appeal is further enhanced by flush door handles and 18-inch alloy wheels. Discreetly situated on the side, beneath the A-pillar, is the charging flap. The CUV’s integrated LED tail lamps and roof spoiler at the back give it a unified, futuristic appearance. Two battery options are anticipated for the Windsor EV to meet various client needs. The base Windsor model is probably going to have a 37 kWh battery pack, which will give it about 360 km of driving range. The flagship model, on the other hand, will have a more powerful 50 kWh battery that can provide an increased range of up to 460 km.
