The Audi A6 e-tron concept was first shown at the Auto Shanghai trade show in 2021. Audi has now introduced the A6 e-tron in Sportback and Avant body styles, along with S6 e-tron versions based on the PPE (Premium architecture Electric) architecture. These models will be the first to include a flat floor design, three years after the original model was introduced. It is slated to be on sale worldwide in September 2024. Let’s examine its features, interior, exterior, and available powertrain options. Notably, the odd numbers will be used for Audi’s ICE vehicles and the even numbers for its EVs under the new nomenclature.

Audi A6 e-tron’s external design

The Audi A6 e-tron series receives a cleaner, bolder look in relation to the German manufacturer’s current design language. It stands out from other vehicles on the market thanks to its wide grille and slender DRLs. The EV-specific enclosed grille is similar to previous e-tron models, with a large gloss-black bumper section underneath that houses the battery’s air intakes and neatly integrates the radar and ADAS sensors into the design.

Moving on to the side profile, the A6 e-tron has a stretched profile that highlights the EV’s appearance with fender haunches. The A6 e-tron has a dynamic appearance on the road thanks to the black insert on the side panels that shows where the battery is located. It has aerodynamic 19-inch alloy wheels with a sporty appearance (20 and 21-inch alloy wheels exclusive to the S6 e-tron variants). The measurements of the Audi A6 e-tron are 1,923 mm in width, 1,527 mm in height, and 4,928 mm in length with a 2,946 mm wheelbase.

The LED strip that runs the length of the car’s rear end gives it a sleek and elegant appearance. The lighted Audi logo is without a doubt the focal point of the A6 e-tron’s rear end. A lip spoiler that is fitted into the boot of the A6 e-tron sportback enhances the EV’s sporty appearance. Its dynamic appeal is further enhanced by a sizable rear diffuser that is tucked away beneath the bumper.

Audi A6 e-tron cars come in eight different exterior color options: Magnetic gray solid, Mythos black metallic, Typhoon gray metallic, Glacier white metallic, Plasma blue metallic, and Malpelo blue metallic. Only the S6 e-tron variants come with the Daytona gray pearl effect and Siam beige metallic. The A6 e-tron has a distinct personality thanks to the many lighting aspects provided by Audi’s groundbreaking lighting technology, which includes second-generation OLED rear lights and brand-name LED lighting up front.

Interior And Features Of The Audi A6 e-tron

The Audi A6 e-tron’s cabin has been updated to match the next-generation vehicles, with a driver-centric dashboard layout that wraps around the vehicle. A 14.5-inch Android OS touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is featured inside the vehicle. This system also includes built-in ChatGPT and voice commands and AI support.

A 11.9-inch digital driver’s display is also available, with the ability to turn it into a heads-up display with augmented reality visuals. An additional feature that emphasizes in-car entertainment is the 10.9-inch front passenger display. The screens for the camera-based ORVMs are located on the internal door panels. Throughout the cabin, there is dynamic ambient lighting that is hidden under the dashboard.

Additionally, Audi added a smart panoramic glass roof with switchable transparency, which modifies the glass’s opacity to reduce direct sunlight. Additionally available is a potent 20-speaker Bang & Olufsen surround sound system with 830 watts of power.
