Mahindra XUV.e9 spy photos reveal new alloys and a design close to production

0

Mahindra has ambitious aspirations for its range of born-electric vehicles, which will begin with the XUV.e8, which is expected to go on sale at the end of this year. The XUV.e8 or XUV e8 is essentially the XUV700’s all-electric counterpart. The coupe version of the e8 called the XUV.e9, or XUV e9, will come after it.

A similar prototype was recently observed undergoing testing on Indian highways. Despite its extensive disguise, the test mule appeared to be almost production-ready. Similar to the XUV e8, the XUV e9 will be powered by Mahindra’s proprietary INGLO platform, which is equipped with motors sourced from Volkswagen.

Mahindra XUV e9: Appearance and Features

The most recent spy photos show an SUV resembling a classic coupe with a recessed roofline. The spy photos focus on the SUV’s back end, which boldly displays a trapezoid-shaped LED strip housed in a ducktail-style spoiler. The flat panel of the fastback-style boot lid is where the vertical LED taillamps are positioned flush. Mahindra’s bronze twin-peak emblem will take the stage on the tailboard. A noticeable shoulder line, flared wheel arches and creases running the length of the door sills give the side profile a generally tidy appearance. The SUV is equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels featuring a star pattern.

Vertical bi-LED projector LED headlamps with a thin LED strip spanning the sides and bonnet line are the main feature up front. The air dam is housed in a streamlined front bumper that is integrated into the flat, sealed-off nose. The XUV e9 is anticipated to include three 12.3-inch panels on a fully digital dashboard within the cabin. Level 2 ADAS, a head-up display with augmented navigation, a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, and vehicle-to-load capability are anticipated to be further highlights.

Mahindra had previously mentioned that there might be a variety of battery options between 60 and 80 kWh for the XUV e9. An IDC range of roughly 450–500 kilometres is what we anticipate. Mahindra stated that the XUV e9 will be available with both a single-motor, rear-wheel drive system and a dual-motor, all-wheel drive setup, while the motor specifications are yet unknown. Peak power output is anticipated to range from 227 to 345 horsepower.
