Tata Punch.ev revealed as the official Car of WPL

In India, Tata appears to be setting the standard for the EV industry right now. It has undoubtedly taken a bigger lead in the competition for mid-range EVs with the debut of Punch.ev. As Tata is an official sponsor of the Women Premier League (WPL 2024), this automobile has now secured the top slot. What is the WPL 2024, and what does Punch.ev’s top spot at the competition mean? Tata Punch.EV: WPL 2024 Official Vehicle

The WPL, also called the Women Premier League, is a T20 cricket league exclusive to female players. It is comparable to the well-known IPL Twenty20 men’s cricket competition, in which five teams fight for the championship. The inaugural season of the WPL, a brand-new competition, took place in 2023.

WPL 2024 is set to begin this year on February 23, 2024, which is today. This cricket competition, which lasts for a month, will end on March 17, 2024, with the winner side taking home the WPL 2024 trophy. This year’s official title sponsor of the Women Premier League (WPL) is Tata Motors.

Tata announced this with a message that was uploaded on its official X account. The official vehicle of the WPL 2024 competition is the Punch.ev. Tata is reportedly placing a large bet on its newest electric vehicle on the Indian market and is aggressively marketing it there at every chance.

Tata had already advertised their vehicle at Twenty20 cricket competitions. Recap: the Harrier, Altoz, and Safari were named official cars for the 2019–2020, 2021, and 2021 Indian Premier League, respectively, after the Nexon EV. The Tiago EV won the title of official car for the Indian Premier League last year.

Tata Punch.ev: Quick Highlights

The Tata Punch.ev is available in medium-range and Long Range variants, just like the Nexon EV. In India, the highest model of the Long Range version costs Rs. 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom), while the base model (MR) starts at Rs. 10.99 lakh. Punch.ev is based on the Active.ev platform, which is Tata’s cutting-edge Pure Gen architecture. A 35 kWh battery module powers the Long Range medium, while a smaller 25 kWh battery powers the Medium Range model.

The Medium Range model produces 82 PS of power while the long-range variant produces 122 PS, with a torque range of 114 NM and 192 Nm, respectively. The Punch.ev Medium Range model has a range of 315 km on a full charge, while the Long Range variant has a range of up to 421 km. The top speed of both versions is 140 kmph.
