The long-awaited Mercedes-Benz EQE electric SUV has finally been released for the Indian market. The most expensive trim for the country’s only all-electric car, the 500 4Matic, costs Rs 1.39 crore (ex-showroom). This electric SUV joins the EQS and EQB electric cars that are currently on sale in the premium German automaker’s Indian lineup.

It also has a global sedan sibling in the form of the EQE sedan, which is built on the EVA (electric vehicle architecture) platform of the business. The battery pack in the SUV is covered by a 10-year or 2.5-lakh-kilometer warranty and will be delivered via CBU. The manufacturer recommends servicing the EV once every two years. The EQE, which arrived first, will likely be followed by the EQS SUV.

Mercedes-Benz EQE: Dimensions and Styling Cues

The Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV is constructed on the same EVA (electric vehicle architecture) platform as the EQS. The Mercedes-Benz EQE is substantially smaller than the sedan variant with a 3,030mm wheelbase, 1,940mm width, and 1,686mm height. The EQE is longer than a GLC at 4,863mm in length. The new Mercedes-Benz model is identical to its sedan sibling in many ways and borrows some of its styling cues. The black panel that replaces the grille is decorated with tiny three-pointed stars and an LED light strip that connects the digital LED headlights. The EQE boasts full-width LED taillights and 20-inch alloy wheels with optimized aerodynamics.

Mercedes-Benz EQE: Range and Battery Information

The Mercedes EQE SUV comes equipped with an off-road package, a twin powertrain, and all-wheel drive. It has a 90.56kWh battery and is capable of receiving up to 170kW of DC rapid charging. The vehicle can produce a maximum of 402 horsepower and 858 Nm of torque. Additionally, it claims to have a 550-kilometer WLTP range. The SUV claims to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and has a top speed of 210 km/h.

Interior and safety features of the Mercedes-Benz EQE

The EQE SUV features cutting-edge technology in addition to its fashionable design. The inside of the Mercedes-Benz EQE electric SUV features the new portrait-oriented screen with the floating digital console behind the steering wheel, which was designed for the S-Class. Hyperscreen, a third layout choice, integrates three distinct screens onto a single 56-inch wide panel. The most recent MBUX OS, which powers these displays, offers numerous connection capabilities like voice control, remote start and stop, OTA updates, and more. The most impressive feature of the spacious cabin of this 5-seater vehicle is the large twin screens.

On the steering wheel, there are haptic controls as well. One of the interior’s other highlights will be a 15-speaker Burmester surround sound system, along with features like an 8-step adjustable massage system, a panoramic sunroof, powered front seats, a HEPA air filter, wireless charging, an upgraded Airmatic suspension system, Mercedes Me connected car technology, 64-color ambient interior lighting, and multi-zone climate control.

The newly released model will also sport a number of driving assistance technologies like autonomous emergency braking, even parking help, lane keep assist, and blind spot monitoring, in addition to the basic safety features like multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera, ABS, and EBD.
