As different automobile companies are working round the clock to bring their best models to the electric vehicle (EV) market, the need for building EV infrastructure in the country is rising too. The automotive industry has started to make revolutionary changes by manufacturing and investing more time and money into the electric vehicle sector.
The days of using internal combustion engine (ICE)-powered vehicles seem to be coming to an end. This might take time but it has to definitely transform itself to meet the current times where each and every country is coming together and joining hands to save and protect our planet and become more responsible towards the planet we are dwelling in.
EV Infrastructure on the rise in the country
With various major automobile giants and EV startups working extensively on electric vehicles, the growth of EVs has been immense in the last five years. However, this sale is still less than 1 percent and has a scope for growth and a lot of hurdles to overcome. One such hurdle is to build more and more EV infrastructure so that common people can seemingly make a shift in their choice of purchasing their dream car.
In order to develop EV infrastructure and services across the country, Citroen India has established a strategic collaboration with Jio-BP, a fuels and mobility joint venture between Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and BP.
“Jio-bp will install DC fast chargers across Citroen’s key dealership network and workshops across the country in phases,” the release said.
These chargers will boost the adoption of electric vehicles among customers and will gradually remove the hurdles of the EV sector and more enhancement can be made in building the EV charging stations and EV infrastructure.
Citroen India and Jio-Bp are all set to team up, sign a strategic partnership
These chargers will also be open to the entire universe of EV car customers to help boost EV adoption among consumers, it added. With the New Citroen e-C3 All Electric scheduled for launch in Q1 2023, “this partnership will ensure Jio-bp’s charging infrastructure network is accessible via the My Citroen Connect app”, the joint statement further said.
Jio-Bp is currently operating a network of EV charging and swapping stations under the Jio-Bp pulse brand. This partnership shall ensure that Jio-Bp’s charging infrastructure facility is accessible via its My Citroen app. This app will help customers easily locate the charging stations within their vicinity, reducing the fear of running out of charge and not getting stuck in the middle of the road.
It is aiming to set up multiple charging facilities at crucial points which can be easily accessed, ensuring smooth intra-city and inter-city travel for EV owners, thereby encouraging more and more people to join the EV clan and making our planet happy.
Jio-Bp has previously made a pact with Mahindra and Mahindra to set up a charging network for its upcoming electric SUVs. In April last year, Jio-bp and TVS announced a collaboration between them to create a public EV charging infrastructure for electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers.
Jio-bp had also signed a pact with food delivery giant Zomato in June, last year, helping the food giant to achieve a 100 percent electric vehicle fleet.
