Ather Energy, an Indian electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer that competes with Ola Electric founded by Bhavish Aggarwal, is getting ready to launch its first foreign operations. In order to distribute its flagship electric scooter, the 450X, throughout Nepal, the business has teamed up with Vaidya Energy. Vaidya’s Organization of Industries & Trading Houses (VOITH) is a Nepalese industrial conglomerate involved in trading, manufacturing, services, construction, and education. Vaidya Energy is a wholly-owned subsidiary of VOITH.

In the near future, Ather will open an Experience Center in Nepal

Ather Energy has announced that this coming November will see the opening of its first retail location outside of India with the opening of its Experience Centre in Kathmandu. This follows Ather Energy’s successful rights issue, wherein it obtained Rs 900 crore from current investor Hero MotoCorp and GIC of Singapore. Nikhil Kamath, CEO of Zerodha, is reportedly putting money into Ather Energy.

One of India’s most well-known EV producers, Ather Energy, asserts that it controls 75% of the luxury electric two-wheeler industry in India. The Ather 450X, with its two battery capacities (2.9 kWh and 3.7 kWh), ParkAssist, AutoHold, FallSafe, 7-inch TFT touchscreen with Google Maps integration, 90 km/h top speed, and 146 km certified range, will be exported to Nepal to support the company’s operations there.

The companies have released a statement saying they hope their collaboration will “redefine Nepal’s electric two-wheeler market” by making high-performance EVs more widely available in the country.

With Vaidya Energy’s help, Ather will be able to sell and service its products in Nepal, furthering the company’s goal of fostering an environment conducive to the adoption of electric vehicles. Additionally, the Nepali firm will install ‘Ather Grids’, which are rapid charging stations, to help ease customers’ concerns about being too far from an outlet.

Ather’s Chief Business Officer, Ravneet Phokela, made the following statement about the company’s plans to expand internationally: “Ather has pioneered the electric scooter segment in India, and while we continue growing domestically, we are really excited to expand our business footprint to international markets.” We’ve had a lot of interest from many areas, and we’re starting our worldwide expansion in Nepal.

Why did Ather Energy join forces with Vaidya Energy?

According to Ravneet, Ather Energy sees the automotive market in Nepal as a microcosm of the growing global awareness of the need to adopt greener mobility options. He also added that the corporation plans to install public fast-charging stations throughout the country.

We’re excited to join the Nepali market and to do so with Vaidya Group as a partner. We believe that their considerable experience and established competence in the automotive retail sector will complement our efforts to provide a great experience for our fans and consumers, as stated by Ravneet.

“We believe that mobility should transcend the mundane; it should be an experience that brings joy and thrill to people’s lives,” stated Suryansh Vaidya, CEO of Vaidya Energy. Together with Ather Energy, we are bringing a whole new level of excitement to the world of mobility by combining our knowledge of premium mobility solutions with their innovative electric car technology.
