Mahindra plans to increase its market share in the market for electric vehicles. To do this, the company introduced three models under the BE sub-brand, namely the BE.05 EV, BE.07 EV, and BE.09 EV. They teased the first of their models at the time of their debut. Since then, a few different tests involving electric automobiles have been observed being conducted on test mules. The interior of the car was kept a closely-guarded secret, even with the test mules. Rajesh Jejurikar, CEO of Mahindra, recently published a photo that only hinted at what the interior of the electric car would look like.
The Mahindra CEO shared the photo along with the information that the executive team was test-driving the new vehicle in Chennai. An identical story was shown in the post’s photo. A few representatives of the corporation were seen in and around the new electric SUV in the photograph taken at the ceremony. The image provided a sneak glance at the electric SUV’s inside. The car’s exterior, which could be seen from the side, was perfectly camouflaged.
The exterior and cabin of the new BE.05 EV appears to be designed in a contemporary manner, as was to be expected. According to the image, the company is using a simple design strategy for the electric SUV. The dashboard of the electric SUV is sharply designed and complements the BE.05 EV’s fully digital instrument cluster. It is anticipated that the interior of the electric vehicle will be jam-packed with amenities like wireless charging, a top-of-the-line audio system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, leather upholstery, and climate control.
The external design appears to follow a similar concept, being simple with sharp contours and edges. With headlights that are directly above the bumper and C-shaped DRLs with wide gaps, the front will adopt the new design language. Additionally, the absence of a grille gives the vehicle a personality that sets it apart from all other versions sold in India.
Range and performance of Mahindra BE.05 EV
Based on the INGLO platform will be Mahindra’s new-generation SUVs. Battery options ranging from 60 to 80 kWh will be offered. The range should be close to 450 km. A 175 kW fast charger will be compatible with all Mahindra BEVs to enable fast charging. Users will be able to load up to 80% of the page with this in less than 30 minutes. This will significantly reduce range anxiety. Customers won’t have to worry about sitting around for hours while their car charges.
Both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions of Mahindra BEVs, including the BE.05, will be available. There will be two different power outputs of 170-210 kW and 250-290 kW. The BE.05 EV and its brothers will have a 0 to 100 kmph acceleration time of about 5 to 6 seconds.
XUV.e8 will be the first Mahindra BEV to be launched, even though BE.05 has been spotted. Sales will start in December 2024. BE.05 EV will appear in October 2025, one year later. XUV.e9 and BE.07 will make their debuts in April 2025 and October 2026, respectively. The BE.09 launch schedule has not yet been disclosed.
