The MG Comet EV, which will serve as a city-friendly EV and compete against vehicles like the Tata Tiago EV and the Citroen eC3, was unveiled by MG Motors India in India. With its unusual three-door configuration and tall boy design, the MG Comet EV aims to maximise usable space while maintaining a small footprint. For the time being, the company has only shown off the vehicle; when it is officially launched in India, it will reveal all of its details, including price. According to reports, the EV claims to have a range of about 230 kilometres on a single charge.
After the electric crossover MG ZS EV, the MG Comet EV will be the company’s second electric vehicle for India. One fully loaded variant of the MG Comet EV will be available. Prior to its official launch, the car has also been seen on public roads without any disguise. According to sources, the business will release the EV for testing and media viewing in the upcoming weeks.
The MG Comet EV is specifically designed for city dwellers looking for a daily runabout and has a small footprint in a three-door format.
The tall boy design should create a lot of interior space. According to the company’s official showcase, the MG Comet EV will be offered in a variety of vibrant and cheerful hues, including one called Lime Green. Through skins and wraps, the EV manufacturer could also provide customization options. The MG Comet EV will have LED lighting, aerodynamic wheel caps, a dual-tone roof, a parking camera, etc., even though the feature set and specifications have not been confirmed.
The electric motor for the MG Comet EV is anticipated to produce 110Nm of peak torque and 41bhp of peak power. This will be connected to a 17.3 kWh battery pack, which will reportedly provide a 230 km range. The 3.3kW charger that comes with the EV can charge it from empty to full in about seven hours. The MG Comet EV’s dimensions are 2,974mm in length, 1,505mm in width, and 1,640mm in height, with a 2,010mm wheelbase.
The car will have a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, steering-mounted controls, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, keyless entry, and electrically adjustable ORVMs, according to leaks and earlier reports.
