This year’s CES in Las Vegas has already seen a slew of exciting product announcements and launches in the consumer electronics sector, which includes not only laptops and other mobile devices but also electric vehicles. Aside from established carmakers like BMW and Volkswagen, Verge Motorcycles, a lesser-known company, is also present at the popular trade show and has just unveiled its latest and most impressive electric two-wheeler yet.
This new EV is known as the Verge TS Ultra, and it is essentially an upgraded version of the Verge TS and the more powerful Verge TS Pro, which have only been available in select European markets.
The Ultra’s most striking feature, like its “tamer” predecessors, is arguably the futuristic in-wheel motor, which now allegedly peaks at 201 horsepower and can propel the electric motorcycle from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 2.5 seconds. The maximum torque output of the electric bike is 1,200 Nm (885 ft lb), and the top speed is rated at 124 mph.
On longer rides, the electric motorcycle can travel up to 233 miles on a single charge, and charging the battery from 0 to 80 percent takes only 25 minutes. Given these high-end specifications, it’s not surprising that the Verge TS Ultra starts at US$44,900. The electric superbike’s first deliveries are reportedly scheduled for Spring 2023, but the official configurator indicates that new orders from US buyers will be fulfilled in the fourth quarter of this year.
