Auto Expo 2023: Greaves Cotton shows off in engineering proficiency with sleave of two and three wheelers

Greaves Cotton, a well-known name in engineering proficiency synonymous with the manufacture of powertrains for last-mile passenger and cargo mobility, will have a large lineup of electric two and three-wheelers on display at the 2023 Auto Expo in Greater Noida. Greaves Cotton has showcased its 2 and 3-wheelers inspired by the Arctic Tern for last-passenger and cargo last-mile e-mobility, with a Rs 1,500 crore capital investment into the EV space.

In the electric two-wheeler space, the company has on display the Ampere Primus, a B2C e-scooter designed to appeal to a younger demographic of buyers. The manufacturer has also launched the Ampere NXG and Ampere NXU in the same segment.

Greaves Cotton has Greaves ELP, a passenger e3, Greaves ELC cargo e3w, and Greaves Aero Vision, a futuristic cargo concept on display in the commercial electric three-wheeler segment.

1. Greaves ELP is an electric passenger three-wheeler that will provide auto drivers with significant cost savings.

2. Greaves ELC is an electric cargo three-wheeler that will meet the ever-increasing demand for cargo transportation at a much lower cost to serve.

3. Greaves Aero Vision is a futuristic cargo concept that will ensure the evolving cargo mobility segment’s efficiency and performance needs are met.

4. The Ampere Primus is a stylish high-speed scooter with a top speed of 77 km/h, acceleration from 0 to 40 km/h in under 5 seconds, and efficient torque provided by a 4 kW mid-mounted motor. On a full charge, the range is 100+ kilometres, and it is available in four modes: Eco, City, Power, and Reverse.

In terms of safety, it receives LFP battery technology with smart BMS in Phase 1 and AIS 156 compliance. With this LFP technology, the battery has a longer life, making it more cost effective for customers.

The Ampere Primus has Bluetooth connectivity, navigation via phone app, and wider seating with more leg room. The Primus is available in four metallic colours: Himalayan White, Royal Orange, Havelock Blue, and Buck Black, as well as dual tone body panels.

Ampere NXG is also a stylish e-scooter with IoT connectivity, whereas Ampere NXU is a B2B e-scooter that can be used for commercial or personal purposes. The Ampere Primus is now available for booking across India, while the other vehicles will be available in the coming fiscal year.

In terms of powertrains for the electric vehicle segment, the company intends to introduce motor controllers and integration software. The company also intends to expand Greaves Finance and Greaves Retail, as well as collaborate with multi-brand retail stores to provide over 15 electric vehicles, as well as service and spares for these cleaner and greener e-vehicles for more affordable last mile mobility.
