The XEV 9e and BE 6e SUV-coupe, Mahindra’s next electric vehicles, will go on sale on November 26. The automaker has disclosed information regarding the battery pack choices and charging capabilities of both models prior to their release. This is what you should know.

The foundation of both EVs is Mahindra’s INGLO platform, which was created especially for EVs from the bottom up. The automaker has recently revealed that 59 kWh and/or 79 kWh battery packs will be available for the XEV 9e and BE 6e. The platform will also allow 175 kW DC fast charging, according to Mahindra, which would charge the batteries from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes. The rear-axle mounted electric motors’ performance specs have also been made public; they will generate between 231 and 285.5 PS.

Mahindra had previously stated that the INGLO platform may offer a claimed range of around 450 km to 500 km and can support rear-wheel drive (RWD), front-wheel drive (FWD), or all-wheel drive (AWD) combinations, even if the model-specific claimed range has not yet been revealed.

XEV 9e and BE 6e: Current Information

The SUV-coupe incarnation of the XUV.e8 SUV concept, the XEV 9e is the production-ready variant of the XUV.e9 concept. The Mahindra XUV700’s all-electric variant is called the XUV.e8 concept. The production version of the BE.05 idea, which was also unveiled in 2022, is the BE 6e. Mahindra had already shown off the designs of these two electric products in teasers. The BE 6e features a streamlined bumper, dual-barrel LED headlights positioned horizontally, a C-shaped LED DRL, and an angular bonnet.

The coupe roofline and upright front design of the XEV 9e, which has vertically stacked dual-barrel LED headlights and inverted L-shaped connected LED DRLs at the front, give it a more unique appearance. Additionally, LED tail lights will be linked to it. A digital driver’s display, a central touchscreen, and a passenger display will make up the XEV 9e’s triple-screen interior. In contrast, the BE 6e will have two integrated screens. Both XEV 9e and BE 6e have a panoramic sunroof and a two-spoke steering wheel with lighted branding.

Prospective Features of XEV 9e and BE 6e

A multi-zone air conditioner, a wireless phone charger, a high-end sound system, and powered, ventilated seats are just a few of the high-end features that the XEV 9e may have. It may also have features like vehicle-to-load (V2L) and numerous regeneration modes because it is an EV.

Many of these features, such multi-zone AC, a wireless phone charger, and a high-end audio system, may also be shared by the BE 6e. A robust safety package with six airbags (as standard), a 360-degree camera, and level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) technology is anticipated for both electric models.

XEV 9e and BE 6e: Anticipated Cost and Competitors
