Skoda Elroq EV’s Key Specifications Unveiled Before Its Launch; It Will Have A 560 KM Range

0

Skoda has revealed some key information about the future Elroq electric SUV and given a pre-production look at the vehicle. The Elroq, which will be positioned beneath the Enyaq in Skoda’s lineup and be built on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform, will come with a variety of rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive powertrain options with a maximum range of 560 km on a single charge.

The extensively camouflaged test mule offers a first glimpse at the final dimensions of the SUV. Skoda has long since declared that the Elroq will be the first model to showcase the brand’s new Modern Solid design. The SUV has split headlamps, and an earlier teaser image hinted that the top light cluster would have a segmented appearance with lit components extending into what might be a closed-off grille.

Skoda Elroq SUV Key Features

Skoda’s most recent “Modern Solid” design language is adhered to by Elroq. Oliver Stefani, chief designer of Skoda, predicts that Elroq will be a visual delight and may become a trendsetter. Though the test mule is well disguised, glimpses of the eye-catching matrix-LED headlights and top-mounted LED DRLs are visible. The EV car emblem on the hood and a little lower grille are two more striking features.

Upon observing the test mule from specific perspectives, the general design retains some familial ties to Skoda’s other SUVs thanks to its crisp lines and taut surfacing. The tail lamp design is also recognisable, and the roofline softly dips downward towards the back, terminating in an integrated roof-mounted spoiler.

More significantly, Skoda has revealed the available engine combinations for its future EV, which will be available in four different models, the highest of which will have all-wheel drive. With a 125 kW electric motor and a 55 kWh battery pack, the Elroq 50 will lead the range. The Elroq 60 comes next, including a larger 63 kWh battery pack and a more potent 150 kW electric motor.

According to Skoda, all SUV models can charge from 10% to 80% in less than 28 minutes, with support for up to 175 kW of DC fast charging. The Elroq can also support up to 11 kW of AC charging, which, depending on the model, will fully charge the battery pack in 5.5 to 8 hours. Additionally, Skoda claims that the Elroq will come equipped with a “wide range of safety and assistance systems as standard.” Additionally, the SUV will have up to nine airbags installed. Additionally, a new remote parking and remote “trained” parking feature will be added to the EV.
