Kia has launched reservations and revealed pricing for its EV3 tiny electric SUV in its home market. Additionally, information regarding the features and variations has been made public. July will see the launch of the Kia EV3 in South Korea following the acquisition of all required approvals.
Variants and prices of the Kia EV3
The base-spec EV3 vehicle costs KRW 42.08 million, or around Rs. 25.59 lakh, at launch. The EV3 Earth variation is the next model, and it costs KRW 45.71 million, or Rs. 27.80 lakh. The GT Line version costs KRW 46.66 million, or Rs 28.37 lakh. The price of the GT Line variant and the EV3 Long Range variant are the same. Customers will receive a price reduction upon the use of South Korea’s EV tax incentives.
The EV3’s overall design is derived from Kia’s “Opposites United” design concept. A few of the standout elements are the star map LED DRLs, vertically stacked tiny ice-cube projector LED headlamps, alloy wheels with a distinctive pattern, and blacked-out pillars. The Kia EV3 comes with a total of seven exterior color options. Users are presented with a choice of three interior color themes.
The EV3 is equipped with an extensive array of high-end features. It has a double D-cut steering wheel, a 12-inch head-up display, two 12.3-inch integrated screens, and dynamic ambient lighting. The goal of interior design is to increase the feeling of space. There aren’t many physical buttons on the primary console area, and the areas appear uncluttered. Numerous interconnected functionalities are available to users.
Performance and specs of the Kia EV3
The E-GMP electric vehicle platform from Hyundai Motor Group serves as the foundation for EV3. The fourth generation of the company’s batteries is used in the SUV. The long-range model has an 81.4 kWh battery pack, while the ordinary model has a 58.3 kWh one. The normal model’s certified range is 350 km, while the long-range model’s is 501 km. The base model can be charged from 10% to 80% in 29 minutes with a 350-kW fast charger. It takes 31 minutes for the long-range variant.
Kia has added unique elements intended to improve airflow and extend range. These include 17-inch aerodynamic wheels, a side sill undercover, a wheel gap reducer, an integrated active air flap in the bumper, and front and rear undercovers with a 3D curved shape. The Kia EV3 offers one front-wheel-mounted electric motor, which produces 283 Nm and 150 kW (200 horsepower).
Kia EV3: India debut
Given the growth of the electric vehicle market in India, the Kia EV3 might be introduced. Kia might provide the base model with the 58.3 kWh battery pack for the Indian market. Other EVs are being developed by Kia for India. The introduction of the Carens EV in 2025 has been confirmed. Then, there is a second tiny SUV EV under development, which is expected to be introduced as the Clavis or Syros.
