Toyota Reveals Two New EVs, With a 2025 Launch Date

Toyota is developing the BZ3C and BZ3X, two new EVs, as part of its aim to increase the number of EVs in its lineup. Next year, these should be introduced in China. At the Beijing Auto Show, enthusiasts had the opportunity to examine the outside and interior of these EVs, despite the lack of information regarding the powertrains.

Toyota BZ3C: A miracle

You may remember that in October 2022, the BZ3 name was revealed in China. It was intended to be the first electric automobile made by Toyota. The BZ3’s engine was planned to be developed as a result of Toyota and BYD working together. It seems that the original moniker has been transferred for a new line of electric vehicles with the release of the BZ3C.

The Toyota BZ3C is essentially the BZ Sport Crossover Concept’s production model, which made its debut at the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show. Interestingly, compared to the concept, BZ3C has seen relatively little alterations. The majority of the features have been kept, while the production model could need to have some features trimmed.

Just a few features have been altered thus far. For instance, the concept’s side-view cameras have been swapped out for more traditional rear-view mirrors. Furthermore, the front lower lip is not as pointed as it is in the concept model.

Interiors of the BZ3C

The BZ3C’s front fascia is incredibly beautiful, including a sculpted bonnet and a full-width, C-shaped light cluster. There are several aspects, such the beautiful and streamlined bumper, that are identical to those of thePrius. Lidar is installed on the roof of the BZ3C and BZ3X. The BZ3C feels and looks like an electric Toyota C-HR thanks to its crossover style.

With its big, low-drag alloy wheels and flat door handles, the side profile makes a statement. The EV’s athletic appearance is enhanced at the back by the noticeable spoiler lip. The lighting configuration in the back and front are the same.

BZ3C has a seductive, provocative crimson theme inside. Yellow LED lighting on the dash, doors, and center console highlights it. There’s a digital instrument cluster and a sizable touchscreen infotainment system. FAW Toyota, a joint venture between Toyota and the China-based FAW Group, will produce the BZ3C.

Toyota BZ3X: Timeless style

Essentially, BZ3X is the production-ready version of the BZ FlexSpace Concept, which was revealed the previous year. The vibrations of the BZ3X are more traditional than those of the BZ3C. It appears to concentrate on space and functionality and has a strong street presence. The profile’s relative sobriety suggests that this model might be nearing manufacturing.

The BZ3X’s large bumper, lower-mounted LED headlamps, and full-width LED DRLs on top are some of its main features. The side profile has huge alloy wheels with a spoke design, flush door handles, a blacked-out roof, and pillars. Important elements at the back are a hefty bumper and full-width lighting kit.

The BZ3X has a sizable sunroof, a small instrument panel, and a huge touchscreen inside. GAC Toyota will be the company producing the BZ3X EV. It is a joint venture between Toyota and the GAC Group, based in China.
