Piaggio Ape Electric Rickshaw Offers a 3W Subscription Plan

In the electric three-wheeler market, Piaggio is a well-known brand, consistently outperforming Bajaj Auto, Mini Metro, and Unique International in terms of sales. Now, they’ve introduced a unique program that will interest purchasers of their Ape Electric electric three-wheelers. With this battery subscription concept, the upfront cost of the vehicle and the battery are separated, thereby revolutionizing three-wheeler ownership and making it more affordable.

Customers can now purchase the Piaggio Ape Electric for Rs 2.59 lakh (ex-showroom). Then, through the company dealership, they can rent a Piaggio-approved battery pack on a monthly basis. While the consumer is able to access financing facilities because the chassis and powertrain are registered in their name. Customers will be able to own an electric vehicle with this choice, free from the worry of expensive maintenance, short battery life, and replacement costs.

For a lease duration of 120,000 kilometers or 8 years for cargo movers and 150,000 kilometers or 8 years for passenger vehicles, Piaggio dealerships are offering these batteries for rent each month. There is no further monthly rent after the agreed-upon mileage is reached. Even in cases of long-term ownership, Piaggio bears complete responsibility for the battery’s condition. After the first leasing term, battery replacement is also included with this special battery subscription module for the same rent cost.

A Subscription Model for Piaggio Batteries in 30 Indian Cities

In 30 Indian cities, the Piaggio Battery Subscription Model was first presented. Gurgaon, Agra, Warrangal, Raipur, Mathura, Nizamabad, Nagpur, Lucknow, Kurnool, Bangalore, Kanpur, Anantpur, Tumkuru, Anantpur, Kolar, Noida, Vizag, Mumbai, Ghaziabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Greater Noida, Hyderabad, Pune, and Faridabad are a few of these cities. Purchasers are not required to provide any further paperwork, and they are free to sell their car whenever they want or to cancel their subscription at any time.

Mr. Diego Graffi, Chairman and MD of Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd, commented on this unique battery subscription plan by saying, “Piaggio India has a long history of prioritizing customer satisfaction through innovative products and solutions.” By addressing battery problems and providing an affordable ownership option, the industry-first “Battery Subscription Model” eliminates another obstacle to the adoption of EVs. In addition, Mr. Amit Sagar, Executive Vice President, CV Domestic Business, Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd, said that customers can now buy an electric 3W for just INR 30,000 down payment and INR 8,000 in monthly EMIs, making ownership easier than with 3W CNG. The industry will see a fresh wave of EV adoption thanks to the Battery Subscription concept. We think we have a winner after our initial conversations with customers and channel partners. We think the model will also ensure that manufacturers and consumers benefit from the enormous possibility of EV use by promoting EV use in a post-subsidy scenario.
