Free charging for owners of EVs is now available across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, according to EV charging solutions supplier Statiq. EV owners in the state will be able to use Statiq’s public charging infrastructure to refuel their two- and four-wheel drive vehicles. According to the corporation, the goal of its new campaign is to get people to look into “public charging options for long-distance or inter-city travel” and to support cleaner energy sources.
First launched in Karnataka, Statiq’s free charge campaign has already spread to other South Indian states, according to the business. The company claims that its installation would be compatible with vehicles such as the Tata Nexon EV, MG ZS EV, and Tata Tiago EV. As of right now, the company has over 400 electric vehicle charging points active throughout Karnataka. Additionally, it will work with electric two-wheelers such as TVS iQube, Ola S1 Pro, Ather 450X, and others.
How to utilize the free charging facility to charge your EV
Users only need to download the Statiq app, log in, add their vehicle, and begin charging in order to receive free charging for their electric vehicle. According to the company, consumers can charge their automobiles as many times as they like, and there are no additional costs.
All private automobiles—aside from taxis and other forms of public transportation—are permitted, and two-wheelers can be charged quickly and slowly using any public network. All chargers on the Statiq app, such as Glida, Sunfuel, e-fill, and others, offer free charging.
“With this campaign, we aim to raise awareness and encourage more people to choose the EV way while also enhancing our visibility in the South market,” stated Statiq‘s CEO and founder, Akshit Bansal. With the addition of a real-time insights function last year, Statiq made the electric vehicle journey easier by gathering all the information needed inside the Statiq app. Many features are available, such as a charging indicator, updates on the amount of remaining range, and the total number of kilometres travelled.
The charging stations from Statiq have power outputs of 30, 60, and 120 kW. Fast chargers are found at any charging location that is listed on the app. According to a Counterpoint Research analysis, passenger electric vehicle sales have quadrupled to 2% in the past year, and EV volumes are predicted to increase by 66% by 2024. Over 7,000 charging stations are available nationwide in Tier I, II, and III cities, thanks to Statiq’s aggregate presence. By the end of 2025, the company wants to scale up to 20,000 charging stations.
