Kia can concurrently launch the ICE and EV versions of the Kia Clavis to compete with the best-selling Tata Punch in the sub-4-meter sector. Kia Clavis test mules have been observed spying on drivers on numerous occasions in the past few months. It is anticipated to go on sale later this year and will be Kia’s most reasonably priced SUV for the Indian market. That’s not all, though. Recently, Clavis was also sighted in South Korea in an electric vehicle. It’s clear that Kia is preparing a significant offensive to threaten Tata Punch’s hegemony.

The Kia Clavis EV: What to anticipate?

This latest EV model and the Clavis ICE models that were previously sighted are nearly identical. The SUV has functional roof rails, a sculpted bonnet, flush-type door handles, vertically stacked headlamps, and LED DRLs. The alloy wheels on the ICE and EV variants are identical. This arrangement could, however, vary depending on the production model. The rear lighting arrangement exudes the same emotions as the front. Kia Clavis features a boxy appearance, but it is a small one overall.

Kia might make a few small front and back styling adjustments to distinguish the ICE and EV variants from one another. Additionally, there will be EV-specific badging on the outside and inside. Special color combinations and various interior theme options can also be used to create a distinguishing profile for both models.

Key attributes of the Kia Clavis EV

The Kia Clavis’s equipment list will be largely the same for both the ICE and EV models. Kia will make sure that Clavis has access to a wide range of functions in order to keep rival Tata Punch at bay. It will have several best-in-class and segment-first features. Premium features, including ADAS, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, heated seats, and front parking sensors, have been made evident by Clavis test mules. The highest-spec versions of Clavis will come with these features.

The dual, integrated screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment are among Clavis’s other standout features. This configuration will closely resemble the new Seltos and Sonet systems. The Kia EV6‘s steering wheel seems familiar. The upholstery on the Kia Clavis will be dual-toned cloth. The spy photos give the impression that the interiors are roomy, but a test drive will give a more accurate impression.

Kia Clavis EV: Range and performance

The Kia Clavis EV’s powertrain specifications are still unknown. That being said, it’s possible that the Clavis EV will take the Hyundai Casper EV’s powertrain. The base version of the Kia Clavis EV is expected to have a range of about 320 kilometers. Kia will prioritise features like quick charging and an improved regeneration system.

The Tata Punch EV rival is offered in both standard and long-range configurations. With a 25-kWh battery, the base model can go 315 kilometers. The Punch EV long-range variant has a 421 km range and uses a 35 kWh battery.
