These are the Most Anticipated EVs of 2024

SUVs powered exclusively by electricity are expected to become the norm in 2024. The Central Government’s 2020 sustainability plan received a major boost in March 2024 from EV sales numbers, with passenger vehicles including SUVs seeing a 90% rise in retail sales over 2023. The market for electric vehicles as a whole increased by 42% in fiscal year 2024. SUVs are about to surpass 50% of the Indian car market, thus automakers are getting ready to introduce electric versions of these vehicles. Before deciding on an electric SUV, take into account these five models.

Most Anticipated EVs of 2024

Citroen eC3 Aircross

Citroen is developing the all-electric eC3 Aircross, which will be similar to the C3 hatchback. Since its September 2023 release, the SUV’s gasoline-powered variant has not made a significant impact on the market. Just 211 C3 Aircross cars were sold by Citroen last month. The French automaker will need to employ a larger battery because the eC3 is a midsize SUV and has a 29.2kW battery capacity. Since Citroen isn’t anticipated to make any alterations, the electric SUV ought to come in five and seven-seat configurations.

Mahindra 3X0 EV

The internal combustion version of the Mahindra XUV300, which was previously known as the XUV300, will go on sale on April 29. It is anticipated that the business would release its electric version shortly after. The 3X0 has updated LED headlights, alloy wheels, and C-shaped linked LED tail lights. An all-digital instrument cluster and two 10.25-inch infotainment screens are anticipated for the electrified SUV. It will come equipped with a slew of amenities, including a new climate control system, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, AdrenoX-connected technology, and ventilated front seats. The 3X0 electric vehicle is anticipated to maintain the same battery packs that are offered for the XUV400 (34.5 kWh and 39.4 kWh).

Mahindra XUV e.8

An entirely new INLGO electric vehicle architecture will serve as the foundation for the XUV e.8. It is anticipated that the new electric SUV would be powered by an 80 kWh battery pack, capable of rapid charging 80 percent of the battery in 30 minutes. It might potentially be offered as an all-wheel drive electric SUV with dual motors. A comprehensive digital dashboard featuring three screens, one for the front passenger, will be featured on the new XUV e.8.

Maruti Suzuki eVX

Since the eVX would be Maruti Suzuki’s first electric vehicle in India, it is one of the most anticipated electric vehicles. The car is being co-developed by Toyota, a global partner. The electric SUV’s appearance is similar to that of the Grand Vitara and the Fronx.

Maruti Suzuki reports that the electric SUV will have a driving range of about 550 km and be powered by a 60 kWh battery. Its dimensions are 1,600 mm in height, 1,800 mm in width, and 4,300 mm in length. It is built upon a brand-new electric vehicle platform. It will have wide wheels, a roomy cabin, and high ground clearance because it is an SUV. Maruti Suzuki claims that the design will result in an extremely low drag coefficient, enhancing the vehicle’s efficiency and performance.

Tata Curvv Electric

The Harrier EV and the Curvv electric vehicle were on display at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in 2024. The most reasonably priced electric vehicle SUV coupe will be the Curvv. Tata Motors hasn’t disclosed the details, but the Curvv electric vehicle is expected to be among the class’s most aerodynamic cars. Its sporty Coupe roofline may deceive you, but its rugged SUV DNA remains. Despite its thick wheel arches, it has a commanding presence on the road and a towering stance.

The Curvv has split headlamp architecture with a narrow LED DRL across the bonnet shut line, adhering to Tata Motors’ electric vehicle design philosophy. The coupe SUV might have a roomy boot if it had a notchback boot. The Curvv will have a touch-based temperature control panel and an all-digital instrument cluster, similar to the Nexon’s cabin.

Kia EV3

The electric small SUV from Kia, the EV3, made its concept debut last year and will go on sale in 2024. Naturally, Kia’s goal is to create a vehicle that is both useful and “joyful to drive,” and it looks a lot like the scaled-down EV9 that was one of last year’s choices. Kia intends to release several more affordable electric vehicles, such as the EV3, that will retail for between $35,000 and $50,000.

The EV3’s windscreen is thrust forward, and its sturdy, squared wheel arches cut at an uneven angle mirror the EV9. The roof appears to float because of a broken C pillar. Mini tables that can be rotated in terms of length, position, and angle should be included, along with eco-friendly furnishings.
