The launch of the Seal EV, Indian all-EV automaker BYD has achieved a significant milestone in the electric vehicle industry. Since its premiere on March 5, 2024, the BYD Seal high-performance electric vehicle has amassed an amazing 500 bookings in just 15 days. Three versions of the BYD Seal are available to meet the varying needs of customers: dynamic, premium, and performance. Starting at Rs 41 lakh (ex-showroom), the Seal offers an alluring combination of performance and features.

Depending on their needs and preferences, customers can select between single- and dual-motor setups. With a 201 BHP electric motor and a 61.44 kWh battery pack, the base Dynamic model has a 510 km driving range. Moving up a notch, the Premium model has an 82.56 kWh battery pack that provides an extra 650 km of range. This version, when paired with a 308 BHP electric motor, promises superior performance and increased efficiency.
The BYD Seal also includes warranties for the traction battery, motor, and motor controller that last for eight years or one hundred fifty thousand kilometres, respectively, and the vehicle itself for six years or one hundred fifty thousand kilometres, whichever comes first. This version puts power above range, with a 3.8-second 0-100 km acceleration time. A driving range of about 580 km is provided by the Performance model.
The BYD Seal is a good option for lengthy trips because it can be charged from 10-80% in just 37 minutes and has DC fast charging compatibility up to 150 kW. The sedan boasts a roomy interior, a 60/40 split-folding rear seat, cosy heated and ventilated front seats, and a sizable 15.6-inch rotatable infotainment touchscreen for simple feature control. A concealed storage compartment in the front and a crystal gearshift knob are two distinctive elements that make the BYD Seal a desirable choice for buyers seeking opulent interiors.
