For the BYD Atto 3 electric SUV, BYD has released an update mid-lifecycle in select international markets. The updates come with more functionality on the infotainment screen and new paint options. But in terms of mechanics, it doesn’t alter. In a number of locations, including India, the BYD Atto 3 is the company’s best-selling electric vehicle.
What’s new about the exterior and interior of the BYD Atto 3?
The Atto 3 receives a new exterior color shade called “Cosmos Black,” but other than that, there are no external visual modifications. Blacked-out accents include the silver-textured D-pillar trim and the chrome window surround. In addition, the alloy wheels have undergone a minor redesign, and the boot lid’s “Build Your Dreams” emblem is now simply spelled BYD.
The larger 15.6-inch infotainment system, which is derived from the Seal EV, has replaced the 12.3-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system, which is the more notable internal upgrade. Additionally, the interior color scheme is changed from beige-blue to black-blue. It does, however, come with a new “intelligent start” technology that enables the driver to start the vehicle by simply pressing the accelerator pedal. There are no other cosmetic alterations.
BYD Atto 3 specifications, range, and powertrain
The Atto 3 can reach 100 km/h (claimed) in 7.3 seconds because of its front-axle mounted electric motor, which produces 201 horsepower and 310 Nm. It is equipped with a 60.48kWh blade battery with a 521km ARAI-certified range. A 7kW Type 2 AC charger can charge the Atto 3’s battery pack in about 10 hours, while an 80kW fast charger can charge the battery pack from 0% to 80% in about 50 minutes.
We anticipate the new version to be released here very soon, as the Atto 3 is currently available for purchase in India. The Seal EV, BYD’s third product, was just introduced in India.
