Mahindra filed trademark for the name XUV 7XO

Mahindra has submitted numerous trademark applications for names that it hopes to use for its forthcoming electric sport utility vehicles. The applications for XUV 7XO, XUV 5XO, XUV 3XO, and XUV 1XO were submitted as recently as earlier this week. Although Mahindra has not disclosed any additional information about the items, the trademarks adhere to the company’s customary naming conventions.

Like the Bolero, Scorpio, and XUV700 (pronounced XUV seven-double-O), the XUV 7XO, XUV 5XO, XUV 3XO, and XUV 1XO also have a ‘O’ at the end. ‘Accepted & Advertised’ indicates that the trademarks have been made public for review and that a plea may be filed in the event of objection. This implies that the trademarks have not yet been fully registered.

Mahindra trademark details

The titles may be applied to the production models of the EV derivatives of Mahindra SUVs that are now available in gasoline and diesel, as well as to the upcoming line of electric SUVs from the XUV.e and BE families. The firm may use the new name for its planned electric SUVs, even if the fully electric XUV700 based on the born-EV INGLO platform has been branded the XUV.e8 (a trademark for the name was filed last year). This is indicated by the company’s most recent trademark applications.

Mahindra currently offers just one EV model in its lineup: the XUV400. Recently updated with additional features within the cabin, the rival Tata Nexon EV is available for as low as Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India). There is no news on whether the XUV400 and the impending XUV300 EV will also get new names.
