With the Hyundai Creta EV, which has been seen being tested on Indian roads in the past, Hyundai India is attempting to increase the Creta’s range. Under the camouflage, it appears to be sporting the design cues from the Creta facelift this time.

Design of Hyundai Creta EV

The headlights and taillights of the Hyundai Creta EV are similar to those of the Creta facelift, and the overall silhouette of the two vehicles is quite similar, according to new spy photos.

Nonetheless, the Creta EV has some distinct design features of its own, such as the closed-off “grille,” which may have a nose-mounted charging port that is positioned slightly off-center, a la Kona Electric. The spy photos also reveal that the Creta EV will get new alloy wheels with improved aerodynamics. These appear to be 17-inch wheels, although 18-inch ones might be available.

Inside, the Creta EV is probably going to look a lot like the facelift, but it might also have some Ioniq 5 interior components.

Hyundai Creta EV’s battery and range

The 45kWh battery pack that will power the Creta EV will be provided by LG Chem, as we previously reported. The higher battery size of the Creta EV will surpass that of the Nexon EV long-range (40.5kWh) even if it may put it at a disadvantage when compared to the MG ZS EV (50.3kWh) and the future Maruti eVX (48-60kWh). The real-world range for the Creta EV should be about 250 kilometers on a single charge.

Our sources also stated that the electric motor of the Hyundai third-generation EV, the Creta EV, will be the same as that of the most recent entry-level Kona EV sold abroad. It is anticipated to have a single, front-axle-mounted motor with approximately 138 horsepower and 255 Nm of torque.
