For its annual EV Day celebration on October 12, Kia has some significant announcements planned. In addition to releasing complete information about the recently debuted EV5 electric SUV, the business is also planning to reveal two new concepts that could preview upcoming production EVs.

Along with announcing the date of their EV Day event, Kia posted a single photograph exhibiting a total of 5 cars. The extreme left and right versions can be recognized as the EV6 and EV9 SUVs based on their profiles and LED DRL signatures, while the middle model is the previously released EV5 SUV. The two models that surround the EV5, however, are the ones of interest.

Speculations regarding Kia’s new EV concept

The vehicle on the right appears to be a new SUV from the manufacturer, while the sedan-like profile with vertical DRLs on the left appears to be a sedan. Although Kia has not commented on the two cars, the sedan may be the Hyundai Ioniq 6‘s sibling model. Comparing the sedan to the curvaceous and flowing Ioniq 6, opening up the shadowy photographs reveals that the sedan has a more angular appearance. The vehicle features a pronounced rear haunch and vertically aligned LED signatures.

The second enigmatically designed idea resembles an SUV and might be an entirely new model that would fall below the EV5 in the global lineup. According to sources, the SUV idea could be the EV3, which would be the company’s current smallest all-electric SUV. With its boxy, upright proportions and noticeable flare on the wheel arches, the design appears to have some parallels to the EV9 and EV5. It receives its own distinctive LED signatures, just like the rest of the new generation of EVs from Kia.

Like many other multinational corporations, Kia is focusing on electric vehicles (EVs) for its lineup of future models in the years to come. Up to 14 new EVs could be released by the corporation by 2027. Even in India, Kia debuted the EV6 electric SUV as their top-of-the-line all-electric vehicle last year. In 2024, the business plans to introduce the larger EV9 electric SUV in India.
