August 2023 Electric Four-Wheeler Sales Report

This year, sales of electric four-wheelers have increased. It is improving as more four-wheelers are becoming electric in an effort to provide the nation’s transportation system with a cleaner, greener future. However, in August 2023, E4W sales significantly decreased. The section saw a 13% decrease from the prior month.

Tata Motors continued to dominate the market in August 2023, with MG Motors and Mahindra and Mahindra close behind. The top 3 spots stay unchanged. In the meantime, PCA Automobiles and Hyundai Motors respectively climbed to the 4th and 5th positions.

By far, Tata Motors sold the most electric four-wheelers. In August 2023, it achieved the maximum market share of 81 percent with sales of 4,598 units.

With 1,146 units sold and an 18% market share, MG Motors achieved positive results and kept its second-place ranking.

Even though it only produced 377 vehicles, Mahindra and Mahindra were nevertheless able to hold onto third place with a 6% market share in August.

Hyundai Motors was able to move up the leaderboard, from sixth place in July to fourth place today. With a 2% market share, it achieved remarkable results by selling 182 units.

PCA Automobiles lost to Hyundai Motors and fell to fifth place. It was able to gain a 3% market share by selling 110 units.

The market’s lion’s share belongs to Tata Motors

Tata Motors‘ sustained supremacy in the electric four-wheeler market is proof of its dedication to producing high-quality, environmentally friendly automobiles. It has made a substantial 54.9% YoY growth and is growing significantly in the electric four-wheeler market. Despite the difficulties presented by market dynamics, Tata Motors is still a significant participant and controls the majority of the Indian E4W market.
