The production-ready version of the Mahindra BE 05 has also been unveiled, following the same design cues as the Thar.e prototypes. By October 2025, it will be available for purchase after being first shown as a prototype in August 2022.

The photograph that was revealed shows the BE 05 from above. The car’s hood, with its unique creases that go back to the original design, keeps its upright position. Notably, the hood appears to have an uninterrupted gloss black strip that could be home to sizable LED daytime running lights.

The BE 05 sets itself apart by being the first Mahindra car to have a fixed glass roof that covers a sizable area of the interior. The vehicle’s doors will have flush door handles, just as the XUV700. The vehicle’s back features a spoiler and large, C-shaped LED taillights that give it a robust appearance.

A sophisticated, premium arrangement with integrated twin display screens can be seen in the interior’s partial views. With a few adjustments made for ergonomics, we anticipate the production model’s cabin to be very similar to the concept model.

Mahindra’s BE 05 powerhouse

The EV-specific INGLO platform serves as the foundation for Mahindra’s BE 05. A 60 kWh battery pack is anticipated to be installed inside the car, providing a range of up to 450 km. Mahindra asserts that the BE 05 can be fast charged at 175 kW, allowing it to charge from zero to eighty percent in under 30 minutes.

Front, rear, and all-wheel drive systems are just a few of the different drivetrain combinations that can be supported by the adaptable INGLO platform. Mahindra estimates that rear-wheel-drive models might have a maximum power output of 285 PS while all-wheel-drive models could have a maximum power output of 394 PS.

The BE 05 is ready to compete with the MG ZS EV with an anticipated price point of roughly Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom). A few forthcoming models, such the Tata Curvv EV and the Hyundai Creta EV, are expected to compete fiercely.
