Brand New MG Baojun Yep EV SUV is arriving in India in 2025

As the market for electric vehicles in India began to boom, numerous automakers either launched new EV models or converted their current models to run on electricity. To keep up with the times, the top automaker Morris Garages (MG) is preparing to release another small electric vehicle (EV), which is anticipated to hit the market around 2025. According to rumours, the company has already submitted a design patent for Baojun Yep.

The Baojun Yep has already been revealed by the firm in China, and the Indian version is probably going to have similar design features. The company’s Global Small Electric Vehicle (GSEV) platform, which also underpins the recently unveiled Comet EV, will serve as the foundation for the electric micro-SUV.

Newly released MG Baojun Yep Design

According to reports, the next Baojun Yep will be a three-door electric SUV with a classic design. The four-seater EV is anticipated to have roof rails, a large bulging wheel arch, square-shaped LED headlights, a bumper with a robust appearance, and the company’s insignia on the front grill.

Customers may choose to have LED tail lamps installed, much like the Comet EV. Along with other features, the automobile will sport a shark fin antenna, defogger, and rear wiper. Baojun Yep’s dimensions might be 3,381mm in length, 1,721mm in height, 1,685mm in width, and 1,685mm in depth.

MG Baojun Yep Powertrain to Come

If rumours are to be believed, the Baojun Yep will only have an electric motor at the back axle and a 28.1 kWh battery pack. The car is anticipated to produce 140Nm of maximum torque and 67 BHP of maximum power. In terms of range, it could generate between 300 and 310 kilometres (CLTC).

It is abundantly evident that MG is attempting to dominate the entry-level EV category in light of the latest Yep SUV advancements. MG Comet is now India’s cheapest electric vehicle. Additionally, this new SUV will provide customers with another alternative to think about.
