Elon Musk to bring Tesla to India ASAP after meeting Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently met for the first time since their noteworthy Twitter exchange earlier this year in a momentous encounter that garnered widespread notice. At their discussion, the topic of “Make in India” was prominent, and Musk then revealed a change in strategy by announcing the arrival date of his electric car firm in India.

What did Elon Musk tell the reporters afterward?

The Tesla CEO declared that he is a fan of PM Modi and that Tesla will now enter India “as soon as it is humanly possible” after hearing the “Make in India” pitch from the prime minister. The billionaire entrepreneur told reporters in chats after his meeting with PM Modi that the PM “really cares about India because he’s pushing us to make significant investments in India.”

With regard to the shift in plans for his automaker, Elon Musk stated, “We intend to do this; we’re just trying to figure out the best date. Tesla will now be arriving as soon as possible, having previously refused to consider production in India unless India cut taxes for imported Teslas to be sold in India.

Elon Musk also gushed about his “fantastic meeting with the Prime Minister,” saying that India had more “promise than any large country in the world.” I support Modi, he proclaimed. He declared that he will accept Modi’s invitation to go to India the next year.

Modi’s vision of “the three pillars of sustainable energy future” holds enormous promise for India. The Tesla CEO listed them as harnessing solar and wind energy for power generation, installing batteries to store it, and creating electric vehicles that run on it. He continued, “The interesting thing you will find is that this is also a less expensive way to go.”
