Simple One is finally launched in India: All You Need to Know

Simple Energy has introduced the highly anticipated Simple One premium electric scooter in India, following the EV’s initial unveiling in 2021. The Simple One premium electric scooter is equipped with India’s largest battery pack and has a stated IDC range of 212km on a single charge. The premium electric scooter has huge disc brakes, a 7-inch colourful TFT display, riding modes, 30L storage, and other features.

In India, the Simple One electric scooter is priced at Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom). The highest model will cost Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom). On the top variant, the company will also offer an optional 750W fast charger. From September 2023 onwards, this extra item would be available for Rs 13,000.

The company intends to begin deliveries on June 6, 2023, and plans to establish dealer touchpoints in 140 to 150 locations across India over the next eight to ten months.

The Simple One is an electric scooter that combines impressive performance with convenient features.

It is powered by an electric motor with a peak power output of 8.5kW and a nominal output of 4.5kW, delivering a peak torque output of 72Nm. The scooter is equipped with a fixed 3.3kW battery pack in the floorboard and an additional removable battery pack under the seat, providing a total capacity of 5kWh.

With a certified range of 212km, it offers a decent travel distance. Charging the scooter from zero to 80 percent takes approximately 5 hours and 54 minutes, and fast charging is supported with a rate of 1.5km per minute up to 80 percent.

In terms of performance, the Simple One impresses with its zero to 40kmph acceleration in just 2.77 seconds and a top speed of 105kmph. It offers multiple drive modes, including Eco, Ride, Dash, and Sonic, catering to different riding preferences. The suspension system consists of telescopic front suspension and a monoshock rear suspension, ensuring a comfortable ride.

The scooter features 12-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 90-section tires, providing stability and grip on the road. It is equipped with disc brakes with 200mm rotors at the front and 190mm rotors at the rear, offering reliable braking performance.

The Simple One is packed with convenient features, including a 7-inch TFT dash with Bluetooth pairing, music controls, and navigation functionality. LED lighting enhances visibility and safety during rides. Buyers have a variety of color options to choose from, including Black, Red, Blue, and White, with the additional choice of two dual-tone color schemes – white and black – that can be customized with red alloy wheels and highlights.
