In a recent interview, he was overheard discussing the future of the automobile industry. MS Dhoni believes that EVs are not the answer to the issue of emissions and carbon footprint.
Simply put, MS Dhoni mentions that it is not the EVs themselves that are important, but where the electricity to power the EVs comes from. If electricity is generated using nonrenewable energy sources, then electrifying cars accomplishes nothing.
However, focusing on developing renewable energy sources to generate electricity will be the actual solution. At the moment, one might believe that because EVs emit no tailpipe emissions, they must be better for the environment. However, this is only one aspect of the overall process. They require charging, so it is critical to understand where the electricity is coming from.

To determine whether or not EVs are good for the environment, we must consider the entire energy generation process. As a result, solar and wind energy are required to power the EVs in order to maximise the overall positive impact on the environment.
