The companies will establish a battery-swapping joint venture to bring Gogoro’s battery-swapping platform to India, and will collaborate on electric-vehicle development to bring Hero-branded, powered by Gogoro Network vehicles to market.

The Gogoro Network is a battery-swapping platform with more than 375,000 riders and 2,000 battery-swapping stations. The company says the Powered by Gogoro Network Program gives Gogoro’s vehicle-maker partners access to Gogoro innovations and intellectual property including its intelligent drivetrains and controllers, components and smart systems, so they can develop electric vehicles that integrate Gogoro Network battery swapping.

According to the company’s chairman and CEO, Horace Luke “The arrangement with Hero MotoCorp, which also includes the development of a battery-swapping network, does not restrict it from forging more partnerships or introducing its goods in India. Our collaboration is open (with Hero). Both business seek to quicken the transition to electrification and expand the electric vehicle industry in India. We don’t believe in having a large market share in a small niche, Luke remarked.”

Lincoln Electric Holdings, Inc. is launching an initiative to design and manufacture DC fast charge electric vehicle (EV) chargers for the U.S. EV market. The company says it has developed a 50kW DC fast charger power module with a scalable architecture to deliver power levels over 300kW, as well as a single charge port pedestal compatible with CCS-1 vehicles.

The collaboration is anticipated to concentrate on hastening the conversion of last-mile deliveries and urban logistics fleets to electric vehicles utilizing battery swapping. The B2B pilot that Gogoro and Zypp intend to run will start in December 2022.

According to Gogoro Inc, which manages 26% of all deliveries for rapid commerce in Taiwan, riders change batteries approximately three times every day in this industry. The pilot will aid in determining usage trends as well as the state of the roads and the weather.
