After launching the XUV400 EV last month, Mahindra is now preparing to unveil their future electric SUV lineup in India for the first time. BE series were first unveiled at M.A.D.E. HQ (Mahindra Advanced Design Europe) in the UK and are now on their way to India. Mahindra India has released official teasers via social media. On February 10th, 2023, the BE range of electric SUVs will be showcased at the Mahindra EV Fashion Festival in Hyderabad.
Mahindra’s BE lineup sits alongside the XUV.e lineup of electric SUVs. Both are built on the INGLO platform. INGLO is an abbreviation for IN-dian by heart and GLO-bal by standards. This platform is based on Volkswagen’s MEB platform, which is also used in a few Ford vehicles. MEB is an abbreviation for Modularer E-Antriebs-Baukasten. It is a modular and scalable EV platform that is licenced to OEMs for purchase. Audi’s Q4 e-tron, Q4 Sportback e-tron, and Q5 e-tron all use this platform.
Cupra’s Born, Urban Rebel, and Tavascan are all upcoming releases. Enyaq iV and Enyaq Coupe iV from Skoda. Ford’s two upcoming European EVs. ID.3, ID.4, ID.5, ID.6, ID. Buzz, and ID. Buzz Cargo from Volkswagen. Finally, there are the Mahindra XUV.e8 (XUV700 Electric), XUV.e9, BE.05, BE.07, and BE.09.
VW is supplying Mahindra with electric drives, battery systems, and unified cells. VW’s proprietary APP310 PMDC motor, which the MEB platform supports, is part of the electric drive.
The number 310 indicates that the peak torque will be 310 Nm. The APP310 motor is only 90 kg and is coupled to a one-speed gearbox. Mahindra has revealed that the INGLO platform will include LFP cells, most likely prismatic ones.

The range is approximately 675 km in Indian testing cycles and 430 km in the WLTP cycle. These figures are not specified in relation to battery capacity or model range vehicles. In terms of model lineup, Mahindra’s electric SUVs are divided into two categories. BE and XUV.e. The BE lineup consists of BE.05, BE.07, and BE.09, while the XUV.e lineup consists of XUV.e8 and XUV.e9.
These electric SUVs will be arriving in India for the first time. The Mahindra EV Fashion Festival is being held in Hyderabad, Telangana. The event is scheduled for February 10th, 2023. The XUV.e8 will be the first of these new EVs to hit the market. It is the XUV700 electric version, which will be available in 2024.
