Even after selling 50,000 units in India, the Tata Nexon EV is still a popular choice among consumers, according to the automaker, who just made the announcement. The Nexon EV is the first EV in the nation to reach this sales milestone, and it is not surprising that it did so because it has long been the most well-liked EV in India.
The Tata Nexon EV was the vehicle that first made electric technology widely available. It merged the lines between EVs being an expensive technology and being an uncommonly affordable one. Indeed, early acceptance was slow, but as time passed and infrastructure began to solidify, more individuals began to gravitate toward the new technology. The Tata Nexon EV, which offered a respectable real-world range at a reasonable price, was another important component.
Tata updated the electric sub-4-meter SUV during the course of its lifespan with long-range variations and special editions, which helped to maintain interest in the vehicle. Recently, it even received a new trim that adds more goodies to the base SUV’s interior. The trims available right now are Prime (normal range), Max (extended range), and Dark Edition.
The Tata Nexon EV now represents 15% of all Nexon nameplate sales after three years since launch. It sits alongside the Tiago EV and Tigor EV in the manufacturer’s lineup and is a part of one of the largest EV portfolios for any automaker in India.
What is Tata Motors saying about the Tata Nexon EV?
The Tata Nexon EV was announced as India’s own electric SUV with the goal of providing a hip, fashionable, useful, and practical answer for quicker EV adoption in India, according to Mr. Vivek Srivatsa, Head, Marketing, Sales, and Service Strategy, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. In just 3 years, the number of Nexon EV subscribers has increased to 50K. This demonstrates how India has accepted electric vehicles as the modern form of mobility. We want to express our gratitude to the early adopters who saw the potential of the Nexon EV and helped the EV ecosystem develop into what it is today. We hope that more people discover the benefits of an EV and switch to electricity.
The Nexon EV’s 40.5kWh battery pack, which supplies power to a 143PS/250Nm front-wheel-drive electric motor, powers the vehicle in its Max configuration. The system offers fast charging, enabling an 0-80 charge-up in 56 minutes using a 50kW charger, and has a range of 453 kilometres, according to ARAI. The details of its Prime form are available here.
It costs between Rs 14.49 lakh and Rs 19.54 lakh (ex-showroom), including the Prime, Max, and Dark trims. It is the Mahindra XUV400’s main competitor and provides a more inexpensive package than the MG ZS EV.
