Indian e-scooters: Longest range electric two-wheelers in the country 2023

In 2022, sales of e-scooters made up 4% of all two-wheeler sales and according to Statista, India’s demand for two-wheel EVs could reach 8.2 million annually. Remember that this represents a small portion of the estimated 21 million units sold annually.

Here are some of the longest-range e-scooters which you can purchase in India:

1. Gravton Quanta – e-scooters

With two Li-ion batteries, the Gravton Quanta can travel 320 km and 150 km on a single charge, respectively. The bicycle has a 3kW hub motor with 172Nm of torque. A single battery can be fully charged in 90 minutes using a fast charger, and it takes three hours using a regular charger. The e-bike’s top speed is 70 km/h. The car costs 99,000 Indian rupees (ex-showroom).

2. iVOOMi S1 – e-scooters

Under Indian Driving Conditions (IDC), the iVOOMi S1 240’s twin removable 4.2 Kwh batteries have a range of 240 km per charge. The iVOOMi S1, JeetX, and other models from the company all come with this dual-battery removable setup. All of the company’s e-scooters come equipped with a dual-removable battery setup, a first for India. The scooter also includes a 3-year battery warranty.

3. Ola S1 Pro – e-scooters

One of the most talked-about scooters on the market has been the Ola S1 Pro, and for good reason as it can reportedly travel at a top speed of 115 kph thanks to its 8.5 kW motor. It ranks third on this list and has a 4 kWh battery with an ARAI-certified 181 km/charge range. It could travel 102 kilometres in Sport mode and 127 kilometres in Normal mode during our real-world test runs, which was respectably close to Ola’s real-world mileage of 135 kilometres at the time. Along with other features, the recently released MoveOS 2 update added a “Eco” mode that helped increase the “True Range” to a claimed 170 km.

4. Vida V1 – e-scooters

Launched in October 2022 with two variations (V1 Pro and V1 Plus) and three colours, the Vida V1 is an electric scooter made by Hero.
The Vida V1 Pro is powered by a removable lithium-ion battery, which has a claimed range of 165 km, while the Vida V1 Plus is powered by a smaller 3.44 kWh battery, which has a claimed range of 142 km. The electric scooter needs approximately 6 hours to charge from 0% to 80%. The electric scooter has a three-year battery life and a top speed of 80 kmph.

5. Okinawa Okhi 90 – e-scooters

The Okinawa Okhi 90 has a 160 km range per charge. Its battery is detachable and can be recharged at home. On the other hand, the vehicle’s 3.6 kWh Lithium-ion (Detachable Battery) requires 5–6 hours to fully charge. The vehicle’s 2500 W, BLDC motor Mid-drive, with a top speed of 80–90kmph, serves as the motor. The vehicle has an ex-showroom price of Rs. 1,86,000 lakhs and a pre-booking fee of Rs. 2,000. The Okhi 90 has extra features like smartphone connectivity and a portable battery that make the ride more enjoyable.
