In the Netherlands, the Kia Niro EV Cargo has been unveiled. The electric vehicle is described by the firm as a cross between its e-Soul delivery van and conventional Niro EV versions. The EV Cargo is constructed from a standard Niro and a clever conversion kit developed in partnership with Veth Automotive, which converts the SUV into a delivery van.
The luggage kit comes in two varieties: the Basic Kit and the Pro Kit. The €1,990 (US$2,122) Basic kit includes an aluminum-coated load floor, a metal bar divider to fit behind the front seats, and two lashing eyes to secure your stuff. The Pro Kit includes the same components as the Standard Kit, plus four more lashing eyes and two storage compartments between the front seats and beneath the cargo area. The Pro version is pricier, costing €2,680 (US$2,858).
The Kia EV Niro Cargo has a range of 460 km (286 miles) thanks to a 64.8kWh battery that can be charged from 10 to 80% in 43 minutes using a fast charger. The 150 kW motor produces torque of up to 255 Nm. Kia Niro EV Cargo versions range from the entry-level DynamicLine to the top-tier ExecutiveLine. The vehicle’s starting price is €38,230. The EVs are covered by a seven-year, 150,000 km (93,206 mile) warranty.
