Ola Electric Scooters Reduced Pricing to Rs 50,000 in Response to Falling Sales

Ola Electric is currently taking big measures to boost its sales in the face of mounting difficulties. The company has been wobbly so far in the electric two-wheeler sector. The firm has announced the BOSS (Biggest Ola Season Sale), a limited-time deal that offers its base S1X electric scooter for a discounted price of Rs 49,999. Ola Electric made this decision in the midst of facing its lowest sales numbers of 2024—just 23,965 units were sold in September.

The BOSS offer is a significant Rs 25,000 price reduction from the original price of Rs 74,999 and is intended to draw customers ahead of the holiday season. But only the S1X model which has a 2 kWh battery is eligible for the promotion, and the lower price is only offered while supplies last. Since the deal has no set expiration date, prices could return to their initial value at the company’s discretion.

Ola S1X Electric Scooter Costs Rs. 50,000

Even though company continues to be the best-selling electric scooter maker in India, the firm is losing market share to competitors like TVS and Bajaj Chetak and is experiencing significant volume losses. With just 23,965 units sold in September 2024, Ola Electric had its lowest sales of the year. Company has introduced its BOSS (Biggest Ola Season Sale) campaign in an effort to increase sales over the holiday season. Company is now selling the basic S1X electric scooter for an enticing Rs 50K (Effective Ex-sh) thanks to this change. To be exact, it is Rs 49,999.

This is a price reduction of Rs 25,000 over the actual costs. The BOSS deal is only valid for the S1X 2 kWh battery variant, and the Rs 49,999 offer price is good while supplies last. There is no time frame specified, and the corporation retains the right to restore prices to Rs 74,999 (Ex-sh).

The price of Ola Electric’s shares has decreased recently. It dropped to Rs 102 on October 1st from its peak of Rs 157 on August 19th. The Ola community has early access to the offer, which is valid as of right now. In relation to community, Ola scooter owners have been demonstrating their mistrust of the company by adopting creative and forceful methods.

Every month, the company receives about 80,000 complaints on average. Singing on loudspeakers in front of the showroom displaying an abandoned Ola scooter, one Ola Electric owner performed melancholic cover songs. A scooter owner from Kalaburagi, Karnataka (then Gulbarga), expressed his dissatisfaction with the company’s after-sales service by setting an Ola shop on fire. Or the lack thereof. Owners have been reporting everything from minor annoyances to catastrophic malfunctions.

Because of the extended service duration, service centers are being referred to on social media as electric scooter cemeteries. Company is pledging quick damage control efforts in response to the increasing number of complaints. By the end of December, the firm claims to have added 1,000 service centers to its network of support. Among the projects are Move OS 5, AI-powered maintenance, training 1 lakh third-party mechanics, Hyper Service, and 1-Day repair.
