With a wide range of ICE vehicles, Maruti Suzuki, the biggest automaker in India, has led the industry in sales. In terms of electrifications, the corporation has made some good progress. Maruti is getting set to release its first BEV following the debut of a self-charging non-PHEV. Our interest was piqued by the installation of a charging station at a Nexa dealership prior to launch.
Maruti Suzuki’s Charge Station for Electric Vehicles
Depending on a variety of factors, auto dealerships that sell electric vehicles typically install charging stations. Many people are interested in the recent events that took place outside of an Indian Maruti Suzuki Nexa showroom. This may be Maruti Suzuki’s initial offering of a series of charging networks at its Nexa dealerships. This is due to the fact that Maruti Suzuki erected a charging station even though it does not yet provide any EVs or PHEVs. This is a really fascinating finding. We mention this because the Maruti Suzuki eVX is almost here and will likely make its debut at the 2025 Auto Expo.
This forthcoming car is rumored to be sold under the Suzuki brand in Europe and other areas before being introduced by Maruti Suzuki in India by the end of 2025. A Nexa dealership’s recently installed charging station has sparked numerous theories about the company’s electric future.
First of all, this indicates that Maruti Suzuki will use Nexa dealerships to market its new line of electric vehicles. Not sure if this is exclusive yet. Maruti Suzuki may also be investing in its own network of charging stations, following in the footsteps of the Tata Group. The date of the eVX, Maruti’s first electric vehicle, unveiling could be another important lesson to be learned from this event. The likelihood of it being introduced in India by the end of 2025 is quite slim given the growing frequency of test mule sightings and the recent installation of a charging station in a Nexa dealership.
Features of the Maruti eVX
The stylish LED headlamps and tail lamps of the Maruti Suzuki eVX will be accentuated by unique LED daytime running lights. A horizontal LED light strip joining the tail lamps and dual lighting signatures running parallel to one another will define the rear design. The eVX will also have rear door handles that blend in perfectly with the pillars and V-shaped multi-spoke alloy wheels.
To improve its looks, the Maruti Suzuki eVX will have broad horizontal grille bars connecting the headlamps and tall pillars. Rather than competing with the Tata Curvv EV, the top-spec Tata Nexon EV will be its main rival. This is because the eVX may try to acquire a substantial portion of the market by offering greater usefulness and a longer driving range.
Large touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, drive modes, wireless charger, automatic climate control, heads-up display (HUD), new two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, Level 2 ADAS technology, powered and ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, and push-button start/stop are just a few of the features that it will come equipped with. Expected to have a 60 kWh battery pack, the eVX will be Maruti Suzuki’s first all-electric vehicle available in both India and outside. This would provide a stated driving range of more than 550 kilometers between charges.
