Jeep will shortly release the new electric Compass

The renowned midsize SUV from Jeep, the Compass, is finally expected to get an all-electric variant, the company has officially stated.

As part of the brand’s “Freedom of Choice” philosophy, the 2018 Jeep Compass EV will be available in addition to mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) powertrains, according to a report by Team BHP.

The carmaker declared on Friday that it plans to present the all-electric Compass SUV in November of this year, before the vehicle is formally put on sale in the European market in 2025. The 2018 Compass EV will be offered alongside mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid electric cars (PHEVs) as part of the brand’s “Freedom of Choice” strategy. The Jeep Avenger, the company’s debut electric vehicle, debuted in January 2023. But its main purpose was to cater to the European market. The manufacturer of SUVs thinks the next generation of vehicles will help revive the Jeep name.

Jeep Compass EV Launch

The Wagoneer S, Jeep’s first worldwide EV, was debuted in May. According to CEO Antonio Filosa, the mid-size electric luxury SUV is “Distinctly a Jeep and 100% electric in every way.” The future model will be based on the STLA Medium Platform of Compass EV’s parent company, Stellantis. The WLTP cycle indicates that the driving range of this platform is 310 miles (500 km) for the base pack and up to 435 miles (700 km) for the performance pack.

The Wagoneer S, which is built on Stellantis’ STLA Large chassis, has a maximum power output of 600 horsepower and 617 lb-ft torque. Jeep claims that it will have “over 300 miles” of range on a single charge. The company will introduce its Wrangler-inspired Recon vehicle after the Wagoneer. Recon is anticipated to bring the spirit of the Wrangler into the EV era by offering features like detachable doors and glass. Additionally, it promises to release a new Renegade EV for less than $25,000. CEO of Stellantis Carlos Tavares predicts that it will reach important markets in the US and Europe.
