MG Cloud EV caught in India, to debut in March 2025

MG Motor, a fervent supporter of EVs, plans to introduce a variety of battery-powered cars in India that will soon feature the MG Cloud EV. This includes the subcompact electric SUV based on the Comet, which is just a Baojun Yep Plus under a different name.

A recent rumor by Autocar India claims that MG Motor would introduce two new electric vehicles (EVs) based on the E260 platform: a compact MPV and a five-door SUV. Both vehicles are probably going to be priced under Rs 15 lakh. This electric MPV, also known as the Baojun Yunduo in China and the Wuling Cloud EV in Indonesia, is anticipated to hit the market by March of next year.

MG Cloud EV tracked in India

For the first time, a test mule for the Cloud electric MPV was recently seen driving on Indian roads. The test mule, fully camouflaged, resembled its international cousins in shape. The Cloud EV feels more like a crossover MPV at first glance since it resembles a big hatchback with a relatively low roofline.

It is smaller than vehicles like the Maruti Ertiga and Kia Carens, measuring 4,295 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width, and 1,652 mm in height. The India-spec vehicle is anticipated to maintain the same seating arrangement as the international model, which is offered in a 5-seat configuration. Overall, the design is really tidy and uncomplicated, fitting the style of a modern people mover.

MG Cloud EV interiors

The MG Cloud EV’s interiors have also surfaced. There are very few physical buttons in the cockpit; instead, most functions are accessed via the enormous screens that are available or by controls located on the steering wheel. An 8.8-inch instrument dashboard, a 10.1-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, and a 15.6-inch center control screen make up the three displays that are present inside the interior.

The LingOS 2.0 ecological cockpit, which offers a ton of connectivity options and functions, will be built into the screens. A panoramic sunroof, a 3-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, and a wireless smartphone charger are anticipated to be further noteworthy features. Six airbags and an advanced driver assistance system are anticipated to be features of the Cloud EV’s safety package (ADAS).
