Maruti Suzuki will use the NEXA channel to introduce its first electric vehicle

The country’s top carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, is getting ready to introduce the eVX, the first electric vehicle (EV) to be produced under the NEXA program, the eVX is expected to launch in 2025.

Equipped with a 60kWh battery pack, the electric vehicle is anticipated to have a remarkable range of up to 550 kilometres. Maruti Suzuki plans to sell the EV as a “made-in-India” product for possible sale to European and Japanese markets. The EV was designed by Suzuki Motor Corporation in Japan. With a dominant 65% market share, Maruti Suzuki presently poses a formidable challenge to rival SUVs in the Indian automotive market. The corporation wants to take 50% of the market share in the nation and strengthen its position in the SUV sector.

Even while Maruti Suzuki only has a low 22% market share in SUVs right now, sales of its popular models, including as the Jimny, Fronx, Brezza, and Grand Vitara, significantly increased last year.
