Tata Motors is developing a wide range of electric vehicles under a distinct brand, the Tata.ev showroom line. The Punch EV was the most recent model added to this list, but the manufacturer also makes sure that the current models receive regular updates. Two new features have been added to the Tata Tiago EV in the same series of actions.
It is quite attractive for automakers to cater to the booming Indian auto sector. Indian consumers are becoming more interested in the electric mobility sector. With about 70% of the market, Tata Motors is the industry leader in electric vehicles right now. The Tiago EV, the brand’s most reasonably priced EV, has been revised for MY2024.
Features and Updates of TATA Tiago
Two new features have recently been quietly added to the Tata Tiago EV’s equipment list. You now have a 45W USB-C charging port up front and an auto-dimming internal rearview mirror. These changes are only available on the higher trims, though, as the auto-dimming IRVM is only available on the XZ+ Tech Lux trim. The USB-C port is available on both the XZ+ Tech Lux and the XZ+ Long Range variations. With features like a 7-inch infotainment screen, cooled glovebox, digital instrument dashboard, linked tech, cruise control, automatic climate control, 8-speaker sound system, push-button start/stop, and more, the Tiago EV had a respectable amount of technology on board before this update.
It has dual front airbags, TPMS, ABD with EBD, a rear parking camera with dynamic guidance, and other safety features. There are four trim levels for the electric hatch: XE, XT, XZ Plus, and XZ Plus Tech. There are options for medium- and long-range performance. The 19.2 kWh battery used in the medium range variations and the larger 24 kWh battery used in the long-range vehicles have a claimed range of 250 km and 315 km, respectively. The starting ex-showroom pricing of the Tata Tiago EV is Rs. 799 lakhs.
It still faces competition from the likes of the Citroen eC3, MG Comet EV, and other compact electric hatchbacks in the class.
