A new low-cost EV in development – Hyundai Ioniq 2

Hyundai is developing a new electric car to replace the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 in the lineup. The new model is a component of the brand’s electrification push, with the claim that electric vehicles have greatly assisted Hyundai in its global market dominance.

Hyundai Europe’s vice president of marketing recently made a hint that the company might be making the “Ioniq 2”. It is anticipated that the next entry-level electric vehicle will have a respectable estimated range and may be built on a new platform that lowers production costs. Hofmann said, “Everybody in the industry knows the target of this kind of vehicle is 20,000 euros.”

Hyundai EV Ioniq2 pricing

Since Electric vehicles are still far more expensive than their ICE counterparts, price is still a barrier for most customers. Hyundai’s Ioniq electric vehicles aren’t the most expensive, but they are still more expensive than those made by Ford and Tesla, primarily because federal tax credits aren’t available for them. With a price tag of $33,000, Hyundai’s new Kona electric vehicle is the most economical electric vehicle in its current portfolio.

Hyundai has disclosed that it is crafting a new electric car that will go after the entry-level market in Europe and cost a reasonable $20,000 or less. Hyundai intends to keep selling ICE vehicles in Europe through 2035, and it has faith that this model will help the company expand its presence in the Electric vehicles market there.
