Anand Mahindra gifts XUV4OO EV to parents of Praggnanandhaa

India has been proud of the Chess marvel Praggnanandhaa, the Indian chess grandmaster, who has gained a recent victory over Magnus Carlsen. The famous industrialist Anand Mahindra has recently gifted their latest XUV400 EV to the parents of Praggnanandhaa to celebrate his wonderful performance on the world stage, making India proud, and has also encouraged more parents to take Chess as a professional sport.

Praggnanandhaa faced defeat in the final tie-breaker of the IDE Chess World Cup against Magnus Carlsen, thus missing out on victory. However, his commendable performance earned him a silver medal finish in the tournament. This achievement also resulted in Praggnanandhaa securing a spot in the upcoming Candidates Tournament, making him the second Indian player to do so.

Anand Mahindra gifts XUV4OO EV to Chess brilliance Praggnanandhaa

It all began when a considerable number of individuals on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, started urging Anand Mahindra to present Praggnanandhaa with a Thar vehicle as a gift. Responding directly to these users, the prominent industrialist acknowledged their sentiment and expressed his gratitude towards the particular user named Krishlay, as well as others, who had also been encouraging him to gift the young chess prodigy.

However, Anand Mahindra shared an alternative idea that he believed could have a more significant impact. Instead of solely focusing on gifting a Thar to Praggnanandhaa, Mahindra suggested that it would be more beneficial to motivate parents to introduce their children to the intellectual game of chess and support them as they pursue it, even in the face of the growing popularity of video games.

In his view, investing in encouraging children to play chess represents an investment in a better future for our planet, comparable to the positive impact of electric vehicles (EVs). With this in mind, Anand Mahindra proposed that a gift of an XUV4OO EV be given to Praggnanandhaa’s parents, Shrimati Nagalakshmi and Shri Rameshbabu, acknowledging their tremendous efforts in nurturing their son’s passion for chess and their unwavering support throughout his journey.

Anand Mahindra took to Twitter to express his views and tagged Rajesh Jejurikar, who is the Executive Director and CEO at Mahindra & Mahindra, asking for his input on the matter.
