Bolero EV and Scorpio EV from Mahindra announced

Mahindra has declared that the Scorpio and Bolero EV series will follow after energising the Thar and presenting its XUV.e and BE series. Using its INGLO platform design, the automaker will provide pure EV versions of both of these SUV names, including the Scorpio N, Scorpio Classic, Bolero, and Bolero Neo.

An INGLO-based platform for Scorpio and Bolero EV

The Bolero EV will probably resemble that model more closely than the existing one because Mahindra has already stated that a new generation of vehicles is planned. The INGLO modular platform supports both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive systems and can accommodate battery packs with a capacity of up to 78kWh. With this platform, a more than 400 km range may be delivered, and the battery pack can be charged from 5 to 80% in under 30 minutes.

New Identity

Unlike the XUV400, which incorporates copper elements into its electric design language, these new Mahindra EVs will have their own distinct identities. With a new name, we may anticipate a more contemporary appearance for these electric SUVs from the inside out, similar to Mahindra’s Born EV portfolio.

Several powertrains

The two rear-mounted powerplant options out of the several available with this platform produce 231PS/380Nm and 285PS/535Nm. Currently, the ladder-frame platforms with rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive provide the foundation for the internal combustion engine (ICE) versions of both SUVs. The Scorpio N has the option of a turbo-petrol engine while the Bolero is limited to diesel exclusively.

Launch Schedule

Although the Scorpio and Bolero EVs do not yet have a debut date, we anticipate that they will be on Indian roads by 2026 or 2027, following the introduction of Mahindra’s XUV.e and Born Electric (BE) series.
